Amazing how the left wants to tear down statues of former s***e holders and upholders from the distant past when it was an acceptable part of society. But ignore s***ery supporters now, when it isn't an acceptable part of society.
Hypocrisy anyone?

You would have to understand more about when confederate statues were erected, you don't see them in anything but red states that fought tooth and nail against b****s being treated equally...they h**ed it, they h**ed the end of segregation, they h**ed b****s being able to eat in white restaurants, they h**ed having to let them sit where they want on buses, they h**ed every aspect.
And monuments to the greatness of confederates and the war were put up ion the most r****t of r****t areas as a giant middle finger to having to put up with b****s as equals.
There was no glory in being on the side of i**********n and refusing to let go of s***ery, and t*****rs and i**********nists are not worthy of being memorialized.

Like I said, past and present.
They are doing nothing to protest John Kerry making profits on Chinese s***e labor or protesting against that very s***e labor. That goes for those unwashed mobs in the street not protesting against China. Or how about protesting against the Islamic societies throwing gays off of high buildings and enslaving women and stripping them of normal human rights. You are just a one trick pony protesting anything that looks good for the Right and bad for the Left

>>>Here is where we disagree. I don't necessarily look down upon men who fought for their State, over a Union of States still in its infancy, and one that treated their States in what they believed was an unfair manner. They seceded from this flawed Union. You spend day in and day out telling us how flawed it is. It was flawed back then and they wanted out. Lincoln wouldn't let them out. War. But most southerners that fought in that war were not fighting for the continuation of s***ery, but for States rights.
If I was alive back then and a northerner, I would have fought to free the s***es. And we had plenty of s***es in the north also. And they weren't all black, but also Indians, Chinese, White, etc. They weren't all freed by the Civil War.
But if I was a southerner, I would have fought for States Rights and the right to leave that experiment called the United States. And most of the dead southerners didn't fight for s***ery either. They didn't own any. They fought for their homeland. General Robert E. Lee was as big a hero to them as ever lived. Adored by his army and all of the south. He fought for Virginia, and freedom for Virginia to break away from the USA. And not all s***e owners were white. Many b****s and Indians also owned s***es.
S***ery was a bad thing. Always. Throughout history. And so is a bully Washington and it is simply more complicated then what so many simpletons on OPP want to paint it. And as far as the statues are concerned. I believe that it should be up to the citizens of the individual states as to who they want to honor. And not a 51 over 49 majority. Or up to that unwashed rabble in the streets that you and so many want to paint as representative. They only represent a tiny minority that usually disrespects all law and authority. Statues and streets and such should be up to a super majority of citizens with at least 75% v****g to erect or change any honory crap like statues and building names, etc, Both to erect and remove.
An example you would like to remove is someone like General Robert E. Lee. And example of someone I would like to see removed is any reference to or statue of G****e F***d.
