Correct And Wal-Mart drivers are the only drivers behind the wheel of a Wal-Mart Tractor Trailer.

Seems to me there's a step missing. When do the containers get emptied? How can they possibly fit a container into a Walmart tractor-trailer? I do know that it's imperative that the trucks be there when the ship comes in.

The containers are loaded on flatbed trailers
at the Port. The driver takes them to there destination. In this case Wal-Mart Distribution Centers take the containers off the flatbed and their employees sort through the container and loads merchandise on their
Tractor Trailers and send those trucks to the Wal-Mart with their order in that particular
truck. Your neighborhood Wal-Mart has a different order than my neighborhood
Wal-Mart.
In the meantime the Distribution Center puts an empty container back on the flatbed truck returning to the port.

They don't have to be there when the ship comes in. There are plenty containers sitting on the pavement, and stacked on top of eachother. Today's driver may be picking up a container for Target. Tomorrows driver my be picking up a container for Ford Motor CO.

out of empty containers.

Definitely
Now you've got it.
They also ship full containers on trains.

The reason for all my questions is because, for a very short time, I worked for a foundry, and it was my job to keep track of the containers. I was supposed to have a truck at the dock to pick the container. I didn't particular like having to deal with China so, when I missed a shipment, it didn't bother me when I got fired.
