It has just occured to me that there is a good parallel societally, in the micro, to what's happening now in defunding the police in the macro.
Many papers have been written about the downsides to fatherless households for children, and the family unit in general. A lot of the blame for this has been laid at the feet of the Johnson administration deincentivizing the presence of fathers in the house for mothers and children to get welfare benefits.
If you look at police being defunded and social workers taking their place, it's much the same dynamic. Fathers are generally a bit stricter when it comes to children following rules, and are also seen as the protectors. Mothers are seen as the nurturers, in all levels of the word.
So, by defunding the police, on a macro level, the left wants to remove the rule enforcers and protectors and replace them with nurturers. We've all seen how that has worked out societally in populations with predominantly single moms trying to do it all....

Lyndon is my Shepard
I shall not work
He annointith my hair with anti kink hair straightener
He ...............................

I don't remember the rest of it or I would post it.

It was titled the New Democrats 23rd Psalm
Lyndon is my shepherd, I shall not work
He maketh me lie down in front of theaters
He leadeth me into white Universities
He restoreth my welfare check
He leadeth me down the path of sit-in for c*******t sakes
Yea, though I wdlk through the heart of Dixie
I fear no policeman, for Lyndon is with me,
He prepareth a table for me in the presence of white folks, He anointeth my head with anti-kink hair straightener,
My Cadillac gas tank runnett over ,
The Supreme Court will follow me all the days of my life
And I shall dwell in the Federal Housing Project forever.
Amen.
