Pre WWII babies alive today were born just before or during the depression and were raised as you said by parents who were surviving the depression. We also were still a nation with many of the citizens living on farms or in small villages. I earnestly believe that people are not created to live in large cities. Sometimes I believe that US Presidents think they must have a war so they can leave a warriors heritage. I think of Carter who I once heard say that during his administration he did not get us into a war. What I remember about him is that he wasn't able to rescue the US Embassy personnel who were captured in Iran. I believe the rescue helicopters malfunctioned or something.
