When I was growing up in San Diego, a bunch of us kids could be at the beach one day, and drive 60 miles east the next and play in the snow - in December. Have you ever been to Yosemite National Park? It's breath taking but tourism is ruining it. The Sequoias and the redwoods are something to behold. But it's also earthquake country. No different than Kansas with it's tornadoes, or Florida with its sinkholes and hurricanes.

Ginny, lucky you!!!! Beautiful…. SF was my favorite place to go. Also enjoyed San Diego. Many years ago I read a fiction book set in CA that looks like 2021 CA. Couldn’t believe the writer’s imagination ….. thought that scenario was impossible ….. Wrong. Book was in hindsight, prophetic! You must have had a great childhood. Sad that it is no more.

What's sad us that I didn't realize how good I had it. I have a picture (somewhere) of me when I was about 2 or 3 yrs. old with my babysitter's daughter, taken at the beach and we were the only people there. Today, that same beach looks like Coney Island.
Perhaps the author of that book knew where Pelosi would take SF - just saying.
