We could consider the "h****r/gatherer history. If they have no strength to clear land, build shelter, and generally provide, they need redistribution of other people's productivity. It still continues in their ability to care for themselves.

AuntiE :thumbup: Most people are not aware of this fact but the pilgrims tried redistribution and it did not work. Even then they had the lazys that would not pull thier part so they trashed the idea.

One has to wonder how many times the failure of "redistribution" has to occur before it is given up. Oh, right, people forget the statement to the effect (I am unable to remember the exact quotation.) those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. As so many find history not to their interest, they know it not and continue to repeat the errors.
