Research published Wednesday in Psychological Science finds that men with strong upper-bodies tend to be more opposed to economic redistribution than their weak armed counter parts.

“While many think of politics as a modern phenomenon, it has — in a sense — always been with our species,” said Michael Bang Petersen of Aarhus University, one of the primary researchers.

To determine the relationship between men’s strength and political persuasion, the researchers measured bicep sizes, and compared it to socioeconomic status and support for redistribution, collecting information from hundreds of people in the U.S., as well as Argentina and Denmark.

“Despite the fact that the United States, Denmark and Argentina have very different welfare systems, we still see that — at the psychological level — individuals reason about welfare redistribution in the same way,” Petersen said.

“In all three countries, physically strong males consistently pursue the self-interested position on redistribution.”

Like many women it appears the limp wrist liberals promoting the socialist and Democratic ideals here, are also prime examples of little people wanting someone to protect them -- since they cannot do it themselves. Thus they look to big brother to help them survive in a mans world.

This may not be quite true. A few years ago I suffered a severe injury which left me with partial use of one arm but my opposition to redistribution has not diminished by half, unless you count my belief that Congress should redistribute most of their paychecks back to the taxpayers they have fleeced. Who needs term limits? Make them work for minimum wage, and I'll guarantee they won't serve more than one term.

The kickbacks, benefits, access, and now inability to see what they're doing with their portfolios, also known as the pro-insider trading bill, congressional salary makes up very little of the shucking they are giving the taxpayer.

Talking about a shucking. Today I was talking to an old man (I say that because he is 81 and I am just 80). He told me an unbelievable story but nevertheless true. People at a VA clinic told him that he qualified for some real help from the government because of wounds he suffered in Korea. He made the application and after a bit more than a year was told that all his records burned in a fire in St. Louis in 1974. All he has is his form that shows he was discharged honorably. He doesn't qualify because the government lost his records. If that isn't a shucking I don't know what is.

I may be wrong (who me) but let me try this. If he was injured in Korea, he would have received a Purple Heart. In the past, there was a written citation with such a medal stating where and under what circumstances the injury was received. Would not that along with his DD-14 be sufficient evidence for his possible benefits?
