Interesting survey: what intimate details about our nature does it reveal?

A six decade survey by Madison Avenue:
Commercials we h**e: almost 90% remembered the name of the company.

Commercials we love: just under 60% remembered the name of the company.

Those who named the very worst commercials ever aired were at 97% in remembering the company.

Those who named the best commercials ever aired were at 48%. (This stat excludes those that named several companies as possibilities, such as one beer commercial and naming three popular companies including the correct one. But when we consider that they are in competition, this vagueness is not a plus.)

How does this t***slate into profit?:
Surprisingly, the "most h**ed" consistently had greater profit at airing than the "most loved." The name was foremost in consciousness, the first one that came to mind, and somehow disassociated from feelings about the advertising.

I suspect that you are right. So often with the funniest, most clever commercials I can't remember the product.

I don't take in too many commercials anymore. The mute button on the remote control should definitely make it into the inventors hall of fame.

Commercials have their place. Great for bathroom breaks and getting something to eat or drink.

Product information? Best to just go on the internet and look up product and service reviews (not the ones made by the businesses themselves).

Epinions comes to mind, as well as yelp.
