This is our central problem, employees of the gov't, they are all liberal, big gov't, greedy pigs doing nothing positive, to the contrary, they profit from citizens hurting themselves by unwittingly living in an economic rut that they eventually find themselves stuck in. It is debilitating mentally and financially and the liberals just laugh at us about it. The lack of ethics is palpable and the stench of Chicago style politics is now throughout the country. Disband the federal gov't now and we may have a chance.

MANY employees of the government are liberal, but not all. My late husband was a federal employee and he was fiercely conservative - and openly so. It is true that promotions were harder for him to come by than by the a$$ kissers we both knew. Let's face it - what liberal wants an employee under him who argues many points, who tries to refuse to do what he is ordered to do. I personally think they were so intent to shut him up and toe the line that they had him investigate himself for 2 years. He brought home the orders for me to read, knowing I wouldn't believe it otherwise. He was ready to retire anyway - had been for some time because things weren't as they should have been in his bureau and hadn't been for some time. So, he investigated himself for 2 years, found himself innocent, and retired. I see that as poetic justice. A waste of taxpayer money, true, but just as well spent as it would have been otherwise.

No government employee will get away with these shenanigans IF Congress practices its oversight responsibilities, but campaigning and champagne parties have simply made responsibility passe in DC.

To your comment: I am totally in favor of disbanding most of our federal government - it is worse than useless - it is dangerous! All laws should be written at state level, all agencies should be administered at state level or discarded, which would be the right thing to do in many cases. The federal government should be disallowed to do ANYTHING that directly affects any individual. It should exist solely for foreign affairs, the military, and precious little else. It should be given NO MONEY to spend. It should be handed a budget by the states that would support it, and going over budget would be grounds for punishment.

It would actually be relatively easy from a logistical point of view, it is the greedy, self serving politicians and employees of the gov't that would get in the way.We have to do it though or we will be a third world country before you know it. In some (the education system is butchering kids minds and harming them for life)ways we already are. That was my point though, exactly what happened to your husband is happening to anyone who speaks out. That is what these scandals are all about and it is rampant throughout the gov't. I am in the development business and it is insane just talking to the gov't about getting a permit, they act as if you're a terrorist.
