Entire books could be written on the topic so encapsulating it in a nutshell description is difficult. For the most part, Democrats and Progressives have had control of Congress for most of the time since the days of FDR. Added together, The New Deal, The Great Society, and under obama, The Raw Deal have wrought increased dependency on government to provide solutions to problems previously taken care of by family, church, and community. As the Progressives and Democrats have increasingly discredited and marginalized family and church while at the same time nationalizing the functions of community via mandates and regulation, individuals feel less obligated to one another on a human level and look to faceless bureaucracies to fulfill their functions. Upon his e******n in 2008, obama brought to Washington the most well organized and funded political orginization the nation has ever seen. It came with a planned agenda, much of it crafted in advance, to take over the two major areas of our economy that control our lives - finance and health care. Does anyone out there believe that obamacare was actually crafted by the Democrats in Congress? Why do you think that it was written behind closed doors and that it had to be v**ed on to see what's in it? It's because obama and company don't want you to know who really crafted the guts of the legislation and who is still crafting it. Additionally, this administration has brought so much legislation, so many executive orders, and so many end-runs on the Constitution that Congress can't keep pace and is totally overwhelmed by the massive socialist onslaught and is losing by default. As a 31 year service veteran pledged to support the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, I am now afraid for the continued existence of my revered democratic republic formerly known as th United States of America.

It is an honor to welcome you into our midst, sir. Thank you for all you have done over the decades. I am with you in that it saddens me to know everything we have worked for, everything we cherish is being systematically destroyed, and it is being done so by design, either, I think, at the behest of the U.N., or the Middle East. Both would profit from our demise and Obama seems close to both and is of like mind with both.

I want to think that Obama will do himself in with the outlandish lying and negligent behavior as the President of the U.S. The problem will then become another from the dark side to complete the job. ALL of our legal ways to prevent this tyranny we see developing have been corrupted, and all that is left is for us to bear it or fight it. The saddest part is that so many regular Americans have been captivated by this demon in a dark suit, not for what he DOES, but for what he SAYS. The up side is that there are millions who feel exactly the same way you and I do. Hopefully something will come of that.

At any rate, welcome, you are so welcome here!

Happy to have you
Happy to have you...

I am also aretired military man [USAF], who swore to uphold and defend our great constitution and I watch as the federal and local governments are crumbling to pieces under der feurer Obama's onslaught. There seems to be no one in power who can or will attempt to stop him.

Please allow me to add my appreciation for your service to Tasine's and to also thank you for a well said statement.

Just today, in the midst of all the scandals, Axlerod - one of the key Obama advisors - said as a way of excuse that the federal government is too vast for him to control. Now, that is about the only statement I ever heard Axlerod make that I agree with, unfortunately he'll never be able to accept the only real solution - shrink the federal government.

I have no doubt that in your extensive service to the government you've seen much waste and inefficiency. That is the way of government, and the larger the more difficult. However, national defense is clearly a function that requires not only government but federal government, and not only federal government but large bureaucratic government. If we could return to the day when the federal government only involved itself in those functions necessary, and spelled out in our Constitution, we'd still have a difficult entity to manage, but one that would reek more harm on our foes than ourselves. That is hardly the case today.

You retired milatary guys make my ass tired.

You spent your early life on the government tit. Then you retire, and draw a pention at say 50.

Then you go to work, for a contractor that is working for the government, and retire again, and sometimes a third time.

You spend your whole life in jobs that are paid for by tax dollars, and then want to b***h about paying taxes.

And you USN RET, you b***h about the rest of us getting health care, when your's is subsidized, or paid for by the government.

But you will fit right in here, with the rest of the delusional nuts.

Gee, grazeem, you've really got your biases on your shirt sleeve. Re-reading my post, I don't see a word about taxes in it. It's about the encroachment of socialism and the increasing proclivity of the fraud-in-chief to ignore the Constitution. Your complaints about we ex-military and retired military people makes me believe that you never served and have no clue what serving constitutes. While you were home curled up next to mum's bum, I was probably at sea or deployed somewhere. The retirement benefits you seem so upset about are "earned benefits" and are not entitlements of the kind being handed out by obama and friends to cronies, supportive political groups and selected non-white ethnic groups. I consider myself one of the lucky ones in that I survived to enjoy my retirement after working in the private sector until nearly 70. I have way too many friends that either died in combat or in training accidents. I don't know what you do in life, but I hope that you're better at it than you are at articulating your opinion based on emotion and not so much on fact.

You are so full of s**t! I retired with 26 + years service at 43 years of age.
Then you go to work, for a contractor that is working for the government, and retire again, and sometimes a third time.
I never held a government job after retiring almost always being self employed
You spend your whole life in jobs that are paid for by tax dollars, and then want to b***h about paying taxes.
Again you are soooo full of s**t I always did and still do pay taxes!
And you USN RET, you b***h about the rest of us getting health care, when your's is subsidized, or paid for by the government.
We signed a contract with the government that stated that if we spent 20 + years of service we would recieve a pention & medical coverage for the rest of our lives and you perasites that have never earned anything just want everything for nothing.
But you will fit right in here, with the rest of the delusional nuts.

I regret to say I am not retired military only because I wasn't bright enough to either stay or go back in the USN when I had the opportunity. However, when I enlisted I took an oath to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and I hold to that oath today. Thank you to all of you career military for working so hard to protect my butt. I am grateful and say you are entitled to all you can get.

Gee grazeem, I think you forgot the fact that as U.S. service members, we put our ass on the line every day so people like you can continue to spew crap out of your mouth, and not face any repercussion for it. Of course, in the new progressive military we can't go into harms way because we don't know what we might face. I still call that chicken, but what's 4 dead bodies compared to winning an e******n? Most of your posts up until this time made me think that maybe you just weren't all there. Now I know your not! I***T!!!

I am a veteran of 2 years service due to the Selective Service System - grateful that I was able to serve only two years and even more grateful that so many people willingly surrender so many civilian freedoms and privilege in order to allow the rest of us to do no more than pay the taxes necessary to support national defense.
