Yet, progressives keep telling us how people are starving. Does anyone really believe that with all this eating out none of the patrons are food stamp recipients?

With the huge increase in welfare recipients during the obozo's rein of terror more than likely most of them are! The parasites are to lazy to get a job and to lazy to cook at home Eh?

I agree that there are many food stamp people eating out. They simply cut thier deal with the local store, discount the stamps, get the cash and out to eat they go. Honestly though my wife and I can eat cheaper out that we can feed ourselves at home due to the price of groceries at the stores and restaurants being able to buy on volume discounts

Stymie - if you truly can eat out regularly at a lower cost than eating at home, your wife and you may benefit from a course in home economics.

Stymie, I live in a remotely rural area and almost all of us out here have large gardens and dehydrate, can & freeze for the Winter food supply. I also have a small indoor hydroponic garden and an 8' x 12' green house for fresh greens and tomatoes during the off season. In town a lot of folks have decided it is better to have a garden and produce things you can eat in stead of maintaining a lawn that is often times more expensive to maintain than a garden. Now if you live in an apartment in a metro area your pretty much hosed...

Dave. You never had my wifes cooking. I appreciate what your saying but we are retired and look forward to getting out.Dutch, i live in the county and my attempts on growing my own has not worked in the past. Have read all the survival pubs. and feel it is something i need to overcome for future security but my best bet is to get Obozo out of office and the recovery geared up.

Understand the desire to eat out - no problem there - just hope you do it because you and the wife prefer it, not because you think it saves money. Enjoy your retirement - I'll be 71 this Fall - and the pressure from the wife (of 42 years by then) to retire is getting awful strong.

I had to loose a bunch of weight and found eating out to be a major no no. I quit going to all fast food & chain restaurants and we cut out ALL processed foods. I gave up my daily beers also and only have a small glass of red wine with my evening meals. I lost 96 pounds and my bride 64#. I went from a 48" waist to a 36 and XXXL shirts to large. I also got off of all the type 2 diabetic meds, high blood pressure meds and cholesterol meds are down to the bare minimum. Feel great and even have an occasional beer once in a while.

Well done, bravo - I don't have as far to go as you had, but I am on a similar path - never did drink more than one or two beers a month - so I'll have to find some other major thing
