I'm in a state of making sure.

Can anyone locate a scripture in the Tanakh that describes the resurrection of the messiah?

I'm not talking about Isaiah 53 and the narrative there, because it never mentions the resurrection.

Something that is the backbone of Christian theology must be important enough to clearly be spelled out in the old Testament.

You don't know your Bible canuckus...

Reference to Jesus’ resurrection in the OT.

Psalm 16:9-10
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.
10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

Peter references this passage in the NT when speaking of Jesus resurrection from the OT.

Acts 2:29-32
29 "Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.
32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses."

Reading the full passage seems to give it a very different meaning... But why read the whole thing in context when you can just cherry pick a few lines...Right...

Psalm 16
New International Version
Psalm 16
A miktam[a] of David.
1 Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge.

2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
3 I say of the holy people who are in the land,
“They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
4 Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
or take up their names on my lips.

5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
you make my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful[b] one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

It is in context canuckus. In verses 1-8 David thanks God for His blessings followed by the word therefore -- so -- David continues saying that he’s extremely happy that he will rest in the hope that his soul will not remain in Hades and that God’s Holy One’s body will not become corrupted in the ground (resurrect). Followed by verse 11 where David thanks God for showing him the path of life; that in God’s presence will be the fullness of joy; and at God’s right hand will be pleasures forevermore.

If I’m mistaken, please point out my error and explain to me what this passage means. Thanks!

No it isn’t. In Acts Peter says it is about the Messiah - Acts 2:25-28

No it's not. The Holy One is capitalized. The NIV is a poor translation to use when studying the Bible canuckus.

Exactly!

There are multiple misquoted Hebrew scriptures in the Greek bible.

I was raised Christian and was angry for a few years when I actually made some in depth studies of what I supported as God inspired.
