The reason I am so against red f**g laws is that there have been so many incidents of fraudulent claims by disgruntled individuals and then before you know someone is getting screwed out of their constitutional rights. Are you okay with this unconstitutional confiscation? Maybe someone can b***h about you (unsubstantiated), and have the “authorities” show up at your door and confiscate your guns (if you have any) and you have no say in the matter. Is this the government you want? Sure seems like it but maybe I’m wrong.

Cops will turn around and arrest someone for making false claims in a heartbeat.

The cases where we have seen people have guns confiscated in this red county have been people that are unhinged...when you threaten to shoot someone in an altercation you are by definition unhinged and out of control and need your guns taken away.

The worry and reality of mistakes is rhetorical, and while it may happen here and there it is a small price to pay, and happens far less than those who worry their heads about it believe it is.

My sister pulled that on me over an estate issue, she reported that I had threatened to shoot my father who had dementia.. The police there and the sheriffs in this county did their diligence. They determined that my fathers word meant nothing, I invited sheriffs in and told them that my sister was in the middle of stealing hundreds of thousands from my father's estate, that I have dozens of custom competition and higher end firearms, have competed all my life in police speed events and other venues, and have never threatened to use a gun against anyone in my life. They went back to her and told her that they would prosecute her for making felony false claims, and that she could easily find herself in prison. She was scared enough that she admitted that she had made that up.

Those who have anger management issues often find themselves involved with unhinged people that would make false claims, and quite frankly the people I have seen who have restraining orders out against them are unhinged people with histories of violence.

In this record number of red f**g confiscations there are very few that are not warranted, police are being very careful to have probable cause before going there.

I know several people who did stupid things like bringing a gun out to threaten neighbors into stopping something they didn't like...they deserved felony charges and gun confiscation, that is unhinged behavior, and the person unhinged enough to go there is one step away from snapping and shooting someone.
