$100 as a Vaccine Incentive? Experiment Suggests It Can Pay Off.

$100 offer? They could offer me $1 million and I would still politely say no.

Offer me the privilege of not having to mask up or social distance? This just proves you’re being lied to. Parky60

Reassuring public service announcements about the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness have proliferated. But increasingly, people are realizing that it will take more than just information to sway the hesitant.

Last month, researchers randomly assigned unvaccinated respondents to see messages about financial incentives. Some people were asked about the chances they would get a vaccine if it came with a $25 cash payment; other people were asked about receiving $50 or $100.

Roughly a third of the unvaccinated population said a cash payment would make them more likely to get a shot. The benefits were largest for those in the group getting $100, which increased willingness (34 percent said they would get vaccinated) by six points over the $25 group.

The incentive to stop wearing a mask and social distancing in public also had a strong result. On average, relaxing the mask and social distancing guidelines increased vaccine uptake likelihood by 13 points.

These results show both the difficulty of getting the remaining unvaccinated people to clinics and the promise of efforts aimed at doing so. While most messaging effects were small, monetary payments seem to motivate Democrats, and relaxing cautionary guidelines seems to work for Republicans.

Keep mask and social distancing mandates until 80% of the population over 16 is vaccinated. The other thing that could work is a “no vax tax” where an additional $50 or $100 a month is withheld from paychecks, social security and government payments from those who do not get vaccinated.

Let people who are afraid to live life, stay at home in their basements so the rest of us can "live". "Will I die living or Live dying"?

Do you understand what you're even suggesting. Take away my rights to decide my own medical Decisions. How about the government come in and give vasectomys to all the guys in the world like you. I'd pay 200.00 for that.

Let’s say your medical decision is to smoke crack to deal with anxiety. The libertarian in says it is a piss poor choice on your part and it will likely increase societies expense to care for you but as they say it is the price of freedom. That said if the nervous condition you are making your medical choice about is caused by the kids in the school bus you drive your “medical choice” can lead to the injury and death of others and shouldn’t be allowed. People who refuse to take common sense proven actions like masking, social distancing and vaccination are far more dangerous to our nation their families and neighbors than distracted drugged or drunk drivers. Unchecked COVID has killed ten times as many Americans last year than auto accidents.

But Kevy, they said that vaxxing up would make us immune to the Covid and we could go back to normal and not have to mask up and social distance anymore. But now thay say that we have to vax up for at least a THIRD TIME most likely followed by annual "boosters" and STILL mask up and social distance. When are you going to take the blinders off and realize they've been lying to you all along. Only stupid people don't realize that . . . oh wait a minute.

Vaccinated people are infecting unvaccinated people What pfizer calls shedding a vaccinated person can make an unvaccinated person have a spontaneous abortion or cause other serious problems for the mother and child. Also vaccinated people wi need booster shots for the rest of their lives because of the vaccine without it you will get sick. Thank bill gates.
I'd rather smoke crack then get the shot.
