Some things really are more objectively true than others.

Regarding censoring:

There is at least one good reason to be in favor of v******tion, and at least one good reason to be against v*****es. For example: Some v*****es have had a preservative in them that contains mercury, which can harm people. This is a reason (not the only reason needed, but still, a reason) to be against _some_ v*****es. A reason to be in favor of v******tion is that it prevents a disease. If people would post reasonable things like these to Facebook, that wouldn't be such a big problem; but when people post false things over and over -- dangerous things that they ought to be more careful about -- such as the idea that ingesting bleach prevents C***d -- then that makes a different level of problems.

I have noticed that when the Dem side chooses not to argue the begin calling one a N**i. This continues until the one being called a name finally ceases to remain and leaves thereby giving the true closed minded one the justification to say they won. Notice that the side that burned down cities last summer were never called N**i but the ones who ran amok at the Capitol were N**i. I still see little difference between a Federal Building and the Capitol. Both are owned, operated, and run by the Federal Government. By today's standards John Brown should never have been hung for i**********n as he did not attack the Capitol.

It's an interesting question. (So I really want to answer it.)

To know who's right, one can: (a) look for consistency, and (b) do balanced fact-checking.

You can compare what they say with your own first-hand experience.

So, for example, if you've had mumps or C***d or some other disease, you may know something about that disease from first-hand experience. You wouldn't know everything about it, but you'd know something.

I feel that there's no absolute t***h; there is an objective t***h, and we can know some things about it, but we probably aren't ever going to know every last detail about it down to the atomic level. And there's always a chance that we're wrong about something that we think we know.

We can get closer and closer, to more objective t***h. We can make the chance we're wrong smaller and smaller.

A scientist may set up an experiment, and when he watches what happens, that's his first-hand experience. If he takes good notes, then some other scientists can come along and run the same experiment, and it becomes _their_ first-hand experiences. I think that's how science is supposed to work. (But occasionally they c***t. I read that somewhere.) (But if you become a scientist too, then you can check their work, by running the same experiment yourself.). (And, out in the world, there are lots of "experiments" that you do, without having to be a "scientist".)

You are disconnected from reality, there is reality, facts, the way it is...and then there are opinions which are like beliefs. My friend asks me why my opinion means more than his, and that is the rub. He bases his opinions on beliefs that have no basis in reality, he refuses to fact check, refuses to study multiple sources or take the credibility of the source into account, and actually refuses to apply common sense to really stupid concepts that are easily refuted by pure common sense and logic.

The right wing and GOP are running on whole concepts and ideas that have no reality, and that is what's different about many people's belief based opinions. Both Hitler and Putin have a certain number of supporters that all fit the same profile, they have chosen to believe what dictators lie to people about because they choose to like many of their positions. There is that same 30% +/- that likes r****t and bigoted positions, it is the common denominator.

I say my opinion is gooder than yours'. Who says you are right and get to ban anything I say ? I have tried to debate you liberals on OPP for years. Most of the time you guys call my arguments nonsense, with zero proof and flee the scene, or you guys just flee the scene.

It's my understanding that Facebook is censoring individuals who propagate false information concerning the v*****es...

My wife has been engaged in a discussion with my mother and cousin on Facebook... None of them have been censored...

3507, you are giving censorship a free pass. You need to look closer at what's going on.

Unless most people get v******ted, the v***s can continue to spread. Then it is a public health hazard.

Facebook does what they want to do based on what they think will make them the most money in the long run. How long have you been in this country PR? You don't understand Capitalism yet? Why don't you guys do the capitalistic thing and start your own forum where you can spew your venom and no one can stop you!

You are on a private forum right now that censors what we can and cannot say. Are we giving censorship a free pass by saying the owner of the forum can lay down any ground rules that they want?

You capitalists really need to get a life when you b***h and whine about capitalists doing wh**ever it is that they want!!!

Many v******ted people have gotten C***d. Some v******ted people are asymptomatic carriers passing C***d on to others without showing symptoms themselves. Others have gotten strange reactions to the v*****es. Like spontaneous a******ns or stillborn babies as well as heart problems and many other anomalies. So there is real concern about the safety of this "v*****e". Plus long term results may find other negative side effects or conditions like now that are finding the v*****e is ineffective against some mutated forms of C***d and it's unsure of how long the v*****e is effective. Also since this isn't a v*****e in the normal sense some doctors are worried that it could have permanent side effects on our i****e s****ms. This is why many would rather take their chances with C***d then the v*****e.

Opinions don't mean a thing if they are coming from ignorance and blind faith in a party's positions.

Somebody is always right, the trick is to figure out who is operating on belief and who is basing them on proven facts.

If you cannot prove something at a certain point you have to acknowledge it isn't fact when facts are evident to the other perspective.

Opinions based on "facts" as known today are not necessarily evil or wrong-they are simply opinions. Facts change as science, the god we are all supposed to worship now, changes. Excuse me, but I will NEVER worship at the altar of science-too many changes-earth flat, then not- earth is central to the universe, then it isn't-too much that science cannot explain, and whose explanations change as more data is found, revealed or wh**ever. Opinions without "facts" to back them up are also, simply opinions-based perhaps on experience, belief system religion or wh**ever. Opinion and facts are not the same, never will be, and science and opinion are also not the same and never will be. The advice to "follow the science" especially in something none of those of us who are alive have ever seen or experienced is also bogus. There are no "experts", contrary to F***i's claims-because there is no one who knows anything for sure about how the v***s actually acts and reacts, is the v*****e good for a lifetime of protection or do you get one each year, as with a flu v******tion? We tally the experiences, the logical conclusions from testing, and make our best guess as to how to stay safe to the best of our ability. For now that is all we can do. I will mask up when necessary-never outside- anyone see the "social distancing" practiced at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday? Most wore masks, though, particularly outside. Kind of a joke, not? Over 58000 people - most side by side and the hugs when it was over-----have not heard one word about that in the news or sports coverage. Interesting. And they wonder why we are skeptical of wh**ever pronouncements the elites make-for our good!
