As he argued in favor of raising taxes on the wealthy, Biden argued the very rich had seen their fortunes grow significantly during the p******c, while ordinary people suffered economically.

And small-business owners have warned that raising the marginal tax rate for individuals making $400,000 a year or more, as Biden has requested, could devastate their livelihoods because many file their business income on their personal taxes.

In an effort to pitch Congress on passing the gun control measures Democrats have long sought, Biden claimed an expired ban on assault weapons saved lives and could do so again if revived.
“In the ’90s, we passed universal background checks, a ban on assault weapons, and high-capacity magazines that hold 100 rounds that can be fired off in seconds,” Biden said. “We beat the NRA. Mass shootings and gun violence declined.”
Experts have said there is no evidence that the 1994 ban on assault-style weapons and magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition lowered crime or violence, however.
A recent Washington Examiner review could find no documented instances of a ghost gun ever being used in a mass shooting.

Biden suggested that the Trump supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol building on J*** 6 perpetrated “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War."
Critics cited a long list of events that could be characterized as worse affronts to democracy than the J*** 6 r**t.
