You, my friend, are misinformed. Trump got us out of the Iran deal and put heavy sanctions on Iran. They should have been severely punished years ago after what they did to our Embassy and its people. They are bad folks and shouldn’t be dealt with. From what I heard, we are begging them. No sanctions.

Do you have any notion of how much nukes cost ? I don't either, but they ain't cheap. Donald J. Trump had Iran on the ropes economically. Their country and hence it's nuclear program was starving. President Biden has released the pressure and the money can once again flow to the Mullahs and their nukes.

You are quite right son, but catch 22 is that no matter how broke Iran got, they stepped up their Nuke development.. they want to be like NK, have the bomb and get special treatment and passes because of that. while one look at what NK gets away with and the national stage they now sit on, who can expect Iran to do otherwise?..

While the people on the street may starve the crazy people who run the nation will find money for the bomb.. with one of the worlds greatest pools of oil, they will always find some nation or even group to fund the billions needed.. as they are now doing.

rather then have another NK to deal with , I would sit at the table and see what if any progress can be made..

The only other alternative I see is to bomb the country into a slag heap..

And NO, I do not want that ever to happen..

Again, Iran nuclear program was not starving. It stopped when the agreement was in effect, it resumed after the US dropped out. even with EU and Russia, China. without the US it could not be effective..

So another try at the table is a better strategy then more starvation of the citizens.. that had no effect on slowing, let alone stopping the Iran program..

But I still want negotiation as the next step. With a new administration and the hardships should still in mind, this seems a good time to offer the carrot with a stick in the other hand..
