I would love to agree but someone born on U.S. soil is considered a citizen.
Under the 14th Amendment's Naturalization Clause and the Supreme Court case of United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 US. 649, anyone born on U.S. soil and subject to its jurisdiction is a natural born citizen, regardless of parental citizenship. This type of citizenship is referred to as birthright citizenship. The way the 14th amendment is interpreted is not at all how our founders intended.

I was always taught that to be an American citizen a child had to be born to two people who were naturalized citizens of America, not just born in America to two people who are here illegally.

14th Amendment was necessary to overturn the Dred Scott decision to settle the question of citizenship for freed s***es. Not part of Original Constitution.
