I'd be willing to bet that every agency, bureau, and department within the federal government is as corrupt as they know they can be because getting at any t***h at the federal level is more difficult that swimming in cooled jello with neither arms nor legs. I am betting that if regular, honest citizens could see the interior workings of every office bearing the federal brand, every employee from top to bottom could be legitimately indicted - yet they are the ones who try to trap decent citizens.

I've always been conservative - and in addition to everything else, that means I obey laws and I pay my taxes without serious objection. A few years back my thinking began to drift toward anarchy. I began to think that any small group, given power to tax, to write laws, to write regulations, to DICTATE to the public will become corrupt, and when corrupt people are elected and appointed, said corruption of the system will appear almost instantly, and regularly.......because it CAN, AND CORRUPT PEOPLE WILL PRESS IT TO TURN CORRUPT, AND THE CITIZENS NO LONGER MATTER. That is TODAY.

I don't speak for anyone but myself, but I could make it just fine, better than I do NOW, if I had no federal government to hold me back. A federal government that is allowed to muck around in people's personal lives is one that will become tyrannical......because power is an aphrodisiac and having it begets wanting more of it.

Why do we feel we MUST allow this? I am ready to label the American public who puts up with this INSANE - it MUST be insane to KNOW one is being raped, h**e being raped, but refuses to do anything about being raped except carp and complain about it, which does NOTHING to the rapist. Were I actually raped, I'd not rest until the guilty party was punished and punished adequately, and I'd do more than carp about it. If I had to track him down myself and beat him half to death in order to make him pay for his crimes, that's what I would do. Do not others feel the same way? Wh**ever has happened to Americans?

Tas well said. I hesitate to attempt to answer you question but really can be answered in one or two words. Lazy or Complacent which is what BO is counting on.

Tas, while I completely agree with what you are saying I do disagree with the direction you are taking it because I read it as if you feel this has just started happening in the past 4 years and is isolated to the democratic party, I'm proud to be an independent and find that both parties are stealing our rights. I don't find that the Republicans have been any more honest about things than the Dems. We could go back to the Iraq war and so called WMD's just to mention 1. It is upsetting to me that each party puts all the blame on the other whe they are both equally corrupt and should be tag as such. Both are to blame
