The Foundation of Hope

Hi, a few weeks ago I posted a comment in the Main Section referring to the overwhelming preponderance of evidence that there are supernatural reasons for many of the great mysteries, problems and consolations of life, and a long time ago I began a journal of my supernatural experiences.

Now I know I don't have to be preaching to the choir here in the Spiritual/Religious Section. The posts I've read in this section are well written and inspiring, and most of you are more well versed in the Bible than I am. My reason for creating this post was a reply I received from Lindajoy, who suggested that I share my writings with her because she shares my interest in the supernatural.

It is not my intention to write about ghostly, creepy, satanic, lurid things like you can find in the secular media. Thank God I've not had any such experiences. My motivation for beginning my journal decades ago was to give witness to the Glory of God by presenting testimony for the supernatural as the foundation of hope for the benefit of our brothers and sisters that deny the supernatural and live only a relatively mundane existence. This must begin by learning to accept the supernatural, to accept the concept that human intelligence and our understanding of nature, or for that matter any extraterrestrial's understanding, is not the epitome of development in the cosmos.

I decided that I will submit a series of posts, based on my journal entries, over the course of weeks, in this Religious and Spiritual Section rather than sending only private messages to Lindajoy and reading her replies because I value your perspective too, dear spiritual readers. And Lindajoy agreed to using this format.

And I should mention that it may take days or even weeks for me to reply and post, for I work full-time and take care of my wife who is ill, do the housework and frequently babysit for grandchildren.

I love the life Our Lord has given me!

Everything has a purpose even if we can't see it ourselves at the time. For the last few years of my wife's life, I worked full time, did the cooking and cleaning, and was her caregiver. People who new my situation could believe that I could do all that, but God gives you the strength. Bless you and keep the faith, God will help you. A good sense of humor helps, too.

Thank you sir for your kind words of encouragement.

Before I met my future wife I prayed that I could marry a woman who needed some special unknown quality that I might possess. When I met her we were both healthy, normal people. It wasn't until several years after our marriage that she became ill and I began to recognize God's plan for us.

Despite her illness she still has a sense of humor and that helps to maintain our relationship. You are definitely right about that.

Also the blessings of children, grandchildren, the sanctity of marriage and fulfilling careers give us great comfort.

Correct you are as I do have a keen interest in the supernatural reasonings of things that occur and yet have no plausible explanation...At least not to me as I simply do not know enough of the whys, or purpose, so I look forward to this learning field with you..

No worries on timing, it is something we either have too much or not enough..

It seems you have been graced with the challenge you wished for and obviously recognize your worth as a servant of God..

A caregivers role never stops... And the rewards come in that help you render, the love you live by and of course Gods grace and mercy...

I know these things from caring for my Mother where it was only to be a couple of months that turned into 18 months, so ever blessed... You see I figure she brought me into the world and I got to hold her in my arms, at her home, where she wanted to be when she left it.. A most beautiful privilege given and one that now quenches those basic longings of missing her..

So yes, blessed we are with so much vastness out there to be learned and shared...

Thank you for all of your kind words. I've been away from here, searching for my new path in life, whatever that may be.

I knew your caregiving love for your wife and its heart wrenching moments from our past discussions... Know you made her transition one of ease in all the love, care and concern given her.. A special place you hold in my heart!!!

Don’t search that new path, relish in all the β€œ new” as you venture out for yet another journey...πŸ’ž Heck getting used to all that new time you have just for yourself is a mastered technique...I know, the readjustment it brings is quite a first~~πŸ˜‰

The readjustment is part of finding a new path in life. Where do I focus my new time? The children are grown and gone, what can I do to keep the family close together despite the fact that we no longer live in close proximity. Whether or not a new person comes into my life or not will work itself out when the time is right. I know enough not to try to force anything, when it happens, it happens.
