Many folks will claim the modern versions are the word of God in English, but inspired, that's another matter.
Always quite revealing those same claims are never substantiated in defense of their chosen version.
They know full well if they argued one particular modern version is the inspired word of God, the union of scholars would reign down terror upon them also.
Perhaps the true answer is found in the following passage.
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
