The Whitetails cometh..

We have a lot of deer up here, see them nearly every day.. but usually on the wood edges or on one of several trails.
Sunday morning, we had a "herd" of four in the yard next to the house doing as they wished with a nibble here and a snack there. For about 45 minutes they walked and roamed, while our wonderful dogs slept in peace indoors on the beds they so cherish.. not even a woof from the two of them.. fun..
we also had several over night guests so they got a kick out of it as well..
I so like it when a simple thing provides a bit of enjoyment..
Wish I had thought of a picture.. darn it..
We have a lot of deer up here, see them nearly eve... (

My sister in Bloomington is not too fond of the deer chewing up her garden for the last 30 years.

It is surprising to me how many deer run about in urban areas.. for as long as I remember..
Yet I find deer to be among the best of the wild things I love so much..

In NC I overlook a pond, around 5 am usually 6 -10 deer.
Also bears in the area, my dog tangled with one a few years ago.
Almost lost her, thankfully our vet patched her up.
Now, 9 years old with the energy of a 2-year old.

That pond has got to be fine indeed..
brave dog.. glad it pulled through.. gotta love it..
Bears here tear apart our bird feeders near every year.. but have never hurt our dogs or anything..
If the dogs make a commotion, the bear hustles away, but not so fast it can not turn areound and make threats in the direction of the dog..
Last season, or so a big mom with 3 cubs sat in a tree about 15 feet from out front door for so long she fell asleep. When she did the running thing the 3 cubs were left high in another tree for near 2 hours while mom took her time rummaging around for treats in the further end of the the place.. one year we got trail cam photos of 5 different bears on our land.. via grand son who was/is an outdoor and photo nut.. nice to have him around as well...
Nice to talk wild life. they all make my day..
Have a nice one and take care..

My girlfriend loved cats, and one was poisoned by a next-door neighbor.
Her excuse, planting her flowers she discovered cat poop.
In court, the judge was not kind.
A long sermon and a substantial fine.

I agree. By the way raccoon feces looks a lot like cat feces, so don't blame the CAT

One was better at getting away and made it back to the woods... he must have been the culprit..
The other acted as if he deserved the perk of a personal biffy...
