Oh, you had the kind nuns. We were just whacked with a drilled out paddle made specifically for beating kids by a carpenter. All the nuns had one.
No warning, just a whistle from the air holes and a pain in the butt.

More or less. At least we learned and remember .... maybe there was a message in their madness. It terrifies me to read some of the posts from lefties.... they do not have a clue.... just a thought.

I liked diagramming compound sentences. It took me twice as long and by the time I was through diagramming, the class was over and they were all thanking me since they didn't have to come up to the blackboard and diagram. Some students had a hard time diagramming a simple sentence like, "Sally loves Spot."

I remember diagramming sentences from, I believe, the 7th grade. Never liked it too much. I'm still not sure of what good it did.

It helps to know the subject the action verb and maybe an adverb or adjective unless you speak Ebonics. Then you mumble something and it sounds like the subject is the action word and the adjective becomes the subject. Remember, proper sentence structure is white privilege just like proper math is white privilege.

🤣👍👍
I am retired for 11 years and live in an all white city. I haven't been exposed to "community communications" but the best I ever heard was a group of black high school kids saying they had no school on Martha L**tin Keen day.
Forever. I celebrate the greatest black woman in history, Martha L**tin Keen.

Thanks , Wish I had before I purchased The Chicago Manuel of Style. The writing of some was making me crazy.... then I was told it is rude to correct posts. If the left learns correct English they still make no walking around sense..... just a thought...

In the end it is about clarity. You can speak crudely and still get your point across. I have read posts that I had no idea whether I was being praised or being roasted over hot coals.

I believe the US Constitution is very clear, but you wouldn't know it after the Supremes reinterpret it when deciding cases.
