Books-------I read a few, like war stories? One of the best is "Matterhorn" a work of fiction. An imaginary Marine unit in Nam..very bloody, but even with no military in your background you will know the characters, types you find in any group. Also see the uselessness of war and much of the operations undertaken.. Brave guys, those only protecting themselves, glory hounds, and those who just want to get home safe. All in the mix....Read it...

Not big on war stories... But I enjoyed a few biographies of men who fought in the Vietnam War... An amazing number of views...

Guess which president in the century didn’t send us off to war. Being a military wife, I can understand that!

After the war, England found a way to get rid of those Jews. Ship them off to Palestine.

Guess which president's daddy paid a quack doctor to diagnose "bone spurs" on his son to avoid the draft.

Was it the same doctor who diagnosed asthma on a star athlete who played football and was a lifeguard?

Vet, this post is about a book. the subject of liberating subject populations is not part of it.. yes, any freedom given is a plus. Just not part of this book of fiction..

And I do insist wars are the most futile and useless of mans pursuits..

come now Carol,, his record on military adventures is pathetic.. from throwing our on the ground allies to the Turks and Putin, to holding withdrawal talks in Afghanistan with out including the Afghan elected government.

But most offensive maybe is announcing withdrawal and the return troops without a word..

Disingenuous?? like that word better,, then my usual?

That’s unfair. The British protected them and gave back their homeland. The Israelis created a paradise out of a desert because God was with them. Now that they’ve accomplished so very much, the Palestinians want it. Similarly, in this country, we created a miracle with God’s aide and now all the i******s want to take advantage because they were too lazy to fight and build something in their own countries. It’s simpler to be paid and encouraged to invade us. Look at how they’re dressed. You think they were well off enough to buy those clothes? If they were, they should have stayed where they were. Maybe they’ll freeze alongside Texans, though I’m sure their sponsors will see they’re kept comfortable.
