Eden, it would seem we have areas we agree. I have reservations about term limits, but am moving more in that direction. How about 8 years max for both President and Representatives and 12 years for Senators? Just a thought. I do oppose the concentration of political power at the Federal level.

They do want to heal the nation, but to many on the left they believe the only way to heal the nation is to eliminate everyone on the right who won't fall in line with the beliefs of the left.

I just can't believe that the people in DC (our elected folks) would balk at civilians being armed but would request 25000 troops with machineguns to provide security. Can you imagine if there had been a crowd and the machineguns had opened up? You cannot shoot into a crowd of people with an M2 and be surgical. You are going to tack out a lot of people. That drunken old broad has obviously never seen what a .50 cal machine gun can do. No sane person would ever ask for that for crowd control.

No this is not about crowd control. If there is a credible threat for i**********nists to storm the Capitol or the Inauguration reportedly armed with everything from machine guns to rocket launchers, hand grenades and flame throwers then providing for an effective deterrent seems sensible.
The C*****l P****e were caught flat footed in the first assault. Prudence dictates never again, hence the show of force.

There is a difference between quelling a r**t in the street with tear gas and repelling crazed wannabe executioners inside your building battering down your door screaming explicit threats of murder and mayhem.
