US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Wednesday she wants fines of up to $10,000 for lawmakers who refuse to be screened for firearms at entrances to the House of Representatives, following the J****** 6 violent attack on the Capitol by pro-Trump r****rs.

Metal detectors were erected at entrances to the House floor on Tuesday evening as members were debating whether Trump should be removed from office over the assault on the Capitol, which sent lawmakers into hiding and left five people dead. Several Republicans were seen going around the detectors or loudly complaining about their use to the C*****l p****e. Pelosi announced Wednesday that when the Democratic-majority House returns to session on January 21, members will v**e on a rule change mandating fines for members who refuse to follow the protocols — $5,000 for the first offense and $10,000 for the second, to be deducted from lawmakers’ salaries.

Pelosi said many House Republicans have “disrespected” the C*****l p****e “by verbally abusing them and refusing to adhere to basic precautions keeping members of our Congressional community, including the C*****l P****e, safe.”

“It is tragic that this step is necessary, but the Chamber of the People’s House must and will be safe,” she said.
Newly elected Representative Lauren Boebert, a Republican who has vowed to carry her Glock pistol when she is at work in the Capitol, was seen setting off the metal detector alarm on Tuesday evening and then refusing to allow her bag to be searched before entering the chamber. Boebert later tweeted her protest against the rules. “I am legally permitted to carry my firearm in Washington, D.C. and within the Capitol complex,” she wrote.
“Metal detectors outside of the House would not have stopped the violence we saw last week — it’s just another political stunt by Speaker Pelosi,” Boebert said.

Everyone should be allowed to carry up to 50 caliber, fully automatic as well. Last team standing right?

For the same reason a retired cop carrying in a store can shoot a criminal that is robbing it.
Right place, right time.

Considering there's already armed guards at the entrance, not necessary (unless trump supporters have stormed the Capital again?).

I can appreciate her position. She is in charge of capital security. She is the reason the capital was so easily overrun.

Tiptop. Good morning to you..

An example is the intrusion that took place J*** 6th... Would you prefer to be a sitting duck than to have a weapon to protect yourself and others?

Can we assume the only people ever entering Capitol Hill are the criminal politicians?

A License to Carry a Handgun is required to legally carry a concealed handgun in the District of Columbia. ...

Meeting the law requirements of DC and the right to own and carry should not be silenced by Congress.. They violate the law in doing so...

Bet a good number of them wish they had a weapon that day..

Yet, they have done a good job blaming the C*****l P****e and firing the higher ups to make that point !! Deflection does not work when you really know whoe C*****l P****e are hired by, supported and trained by.. Rent~A~Cops more like it!! And it showed!! Great message to send out to all of our enemy seeing how easily the Capitol Hill can be captured. Rather pathetic!

The United States C*****l P****e (USCP) is overseen by the C*****l P****e Board and has “Congressional oversight” by appropriations and “authorizing committees” from the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate...

Even when they knew in advance from the FBI that they were scuttlebutt or wh**ever you wanna call it relative to exactly what took place. Even when you had the mayor asking for a measly amount of 350 national guard to be on standby etc. talk about incompetence that’s worse than incompetence is pure damn i***ts!

Along with the fact that the C. Guard deployments must be approved by the city’s National Guard army secretary,.. This is a slower process than a governor hastily declaring a state of emergency and calling in National Guard forces in large numbers.

WTH??? Snd we are to believe these Incompetence can protect our country??? Ha~ Do you feel all secure and safe?? Do you see the egg on their faces???

Now they’ll have some big committee appointed to study how they should take care of their security measures and still get nothing achieved in the end...
