I'm finally off today after a grueling 70+ hour week at work. I woke up automatically at 4:45 and could easily sleep another 3 hours. But, no! My craving for a cup of coffee won the battle, and now I'm up for the day!
If only it weren't so damn cold out, and the sun were up, I could blissfully walk around outside, sip my coffee, smoke a cigarette, and look at everything I won't accomplish today.

Oh well......

I guess I'll just sit here and laugh at you guys until I have to get ready for my 10:00 am appointment.

Hay, from one old fart to another, enjoy your coffee. I always start my day with a nice cuppa.

Mornin Mr Counselor.

I don't know if you've run into this, but there's one of those gourmet coffee places on my route called Roasters.
One day when I delivered their mail I thought while I was there I would get them to refill my stainless steel coffee keeper warmer hootie thing. The little gal behind the counter asked me what I wanted in it, and I said coffee. She looked confused for a second, and pointed at the menu, and said there's what we have.
I just moved on to my next stop........its an assisted living place, and I was laughing, and telling a couple of the old gals there about it, and one of them had me go get my cup out of the truck. While I delivered the mail, she scurried off with my cup, and her push cart walker thing and brought it back full of hot coffee.
It was kind of a day maker for both of us.

Archie, I didn't know you delivered mail. Thank you. The mail carriers are the best. They are so busy with all the packages & are short handed. The local postmaster had to deliver because they couldn't hire anyone. One some days, they were delivering mail at 7 pm. To make matters worse, the mail trucks haven't any heat. So let me just say thank you! I don't know anyone that doesn't appreciate mail carriers. I think that's why they are rated so high. PS, enjoy your day off and don't answer the phone, they're just trying to call you in.

I used to think that the company where I worked would have to close if they didn't always have a pot of starter fluid available for the employees. I called the coffee "starter fluid" because the employees wouldn't be able to stay awake to do their jobs, and the company would go out of business if no work got done. Rge company must have realized that so they always had coffee.

It's been a rough time for us for sure. Between the package volume, c***d, and people using the system, some days it seems impossible to accomplish. I go in early every day to help scan, and sort packages before going to my route. If I'm off the street by 7:00 pm, it's been a pretty good day. On Monday, I went in at 5:00 am, and clocked out at 9:45 pm after sorting packages, carrying my route, and helping on two other routes.
Fortunately, the weather here has been fairly kind to us, or else every day would be like Monday.

Hey Archie.

Good to hear from ya. I was wondering if you'd given up on us (OPP). I'm also in one of those weeks where work has proven that I'm an old fart.

Take care of yourself, my friend.
