Ow! I have failed at that many times, yet there have been rare moments when all that came together in my words and deeds, usually by accident. Oh, and I need to stress "rare moments." Yet if there is an ideal for our actions in the world, that list is it. Getting that all together in this super-charged political divisiveness is not just very hard but acting in that manner or suggesting it, will most likely be ridiculed by both parties. Naivete. Overly idealistic. Childish wishes. Even stupid. And that is our true tragedy, forsaking or forgetting those basic values fundamental to the success of our country for a few centuries. Liberty is esteemed and maintained, our nation sustained, by those necessary values.

Holding this mindset to which you aspire is what the Lord Jesus taught, writing through the Apostle Paul, as he was inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 3:22 "Servants, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,"
24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

and again in Philippians 4:7-8:

7 "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable— if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— think on these things."
