How has the move been working out?

I've been in Hastings, Nebraska for a little over a month now and it's really great to be with family again, but if I'm to have any hope of going back to work, I'll have to move to a larger city, preferably a State Capital. The closest thing to bus service here is something called R.Y.D.E., which stands for Reach Your Destination Easily, but it sure doesn't mean inexpensively! A single round trip costs $4.00! I paid less than that for an all-day pass in Sacramento! Besides, I have to notify R.Y.D.E. at least 24 hours in advance and that simply won't work for a security guard because our hours can be very sporadic, especially if it's a part-time job. I would never know one day from the next when I'd be called into work, making it utterly impossible to schedule a ride, not to mention the fact that R.Y.D.E. might not operate at night and I need to work swing or graveyard shifts since I'm a night owl. In fact, that's why I got into security work in the first place: if I'm going to be up all night anyway, then I might as well get paid for it. Right now, I'm considering Nebraska's capital, Lincoln. Bus fare for seniors is only 85¢!! In addition, every kind of service for the elderly and the handicapped, whether government or private sector, will be right there at my fingertips just as it was in Sacramento, but thanks for asking anyway.

Here's hoping that things work out well for you, close enough to family AND transportation.
Layers, layers, and more layers will serve you well.
Good luck.

Echo chambers seldom have issues.

People understand what free speech is just fine. People can see hypocrisy just fine. What they can’t seem to do is see their own ‘side’s’ warts and instead insist their ‘side’ is better than the other. The truth is neither is better.

Like how? And another problem is one can have a facade of civility while still being insulting. I know good people on both sides of the spectrum and you can’t convince me they are less patriotic or giving than anyone else.

Agreed... The other moderator of the religious section was an expert at such...

I joined a we chat group a few months ago where the moderator was a stickler for the rules... Or warning... Then you were gone...

It was a superb experience while it lasted... Some excellent conversations between the right, left, and center.... With both sides accusing the moderator of favoritism😂😂😂

The OPP does ok... Admin, I mean

Not much going on in the religious section... I suspect the election plays a part in that....

Might need to entice a few friends to join so we can get some good discussions going
