Ebola is not going to run unchecked through the US!

Diseases of a nature which seems to be unexplainable are always seen as dangerous and frightening.

Of course the need to be wary is present, but sometimes we go overboard. Ebola is not the "boogeyman", it is so violently aggressive hat it eposes itself to almost immediate scrutiny.

Our country is susceptible to any disease, but the odds of an epidemic are slim due to our diligent health organizations.

I have to say however: I am mystified at the use of this new "mystery" serum. if they had it, why was it not administered when the outbreak was first reported? stopping it in its tracks there, would have left the necessity of having exposure issues in the first place.

Beg to differ. Ebola can easily overwhelm our medical resources and become a huge epidemic here. Easily.

In Washington state an epidemic of Whooping cough had been raging for 2 years when I moved the hell out of there and back to California 2 years ago last spring. We'd wiped out whooping cough a long time ago but the f--king i*****l a***ns brought it back in because none of those kids had ever been v******ted for it and we QUIT v******ting our kids, because the disease had been wiped out over here.

So now we have a disease heading our way that has mutated to become far more contagious than it ever was before. No one knows why yet, either but it may have become airborne. They don't know yet. And you think our medical services can handle that when they couldn't stop 1000's of people from getting whooping cough? You live in a dream.

The "mystery serum" is no mystery, it's a recent development that's only been tried on rhesus macaque monkeys, but successfully, and those returning Americans with ebola are the Very First Humans to ever receive it. It was that or they die, and it could have k**led them. Human trials aren't supposed to start until September.

Ebola is going to show up first in the i*****l a***n barrios in the Western states, is my bet. A bunch of Mexicans traveling with an infected African will sneak in and spread out, and give it to hundreds of other i******s, and from there, our i*****l a***n problem will be on its way to a swift solution. Unfortunately, just as they've harmed our society and economy, increased our crime rate and overloaded our hospitals and welfare services, they'll now be overloading our mortuaries and crematoriums, with our dead along with theirs.

Oh yeah, ebola will run unchecked through the US and plenty of other countries too. Always expect the worst if you hope to be prepared for it.

Yeah I have to agree w/ black sheep, I believe it could or already has become airborne as a Canadian researcher saw w/ a lesser is stain of the v***s. We spent 7 million in 2010 to develop a v******tion, as this is a "man made" v***s.
If it is, or does become airborne there will be no stopping it. The v***s will have to run its course.
The interesting part will be the money trail connecting our politicians to the company that is currently developing this v******tion, as insider trading is once again allowed by congress.

ebola is deadly but not very contagious. in Africa they usually get it by preparing the body of a relative for burial. they don't even have rubber gloves and bleach, let alone biohazard suits.

I truly hope it stays that way, I've been following the migration of this v***s since March, back then the powers to be wrote blaming it on the bush meat the people were eating.

Right. And those who DO have Hazmat suits get it too, anyway. So how contagious would you call that? In the past two weeks the death toll has gone from 300 to nearly 1000, so how contagious is that?

If it's not contagious, why are so many nation's governments so scared? Why has our National Guard in all 50 states been issued Ebola Detection Kits? Our NATIONAL GUARD!

I hope you turn out to be right and it's not very contagious, but you don't know that any more than I do. It's a v***s. V***ses mutate all the time and this one has, it's a new strain. Do we know that it won't turn into an airborne v***s? No, we don't, it can and may already have. What we do know is that it's way more contagious than the previous strain.

We need to expect the worst if we're going to be able to prepare for the worst. Making light of this is not doing anyone a good service.

The soviets *tried* to develop an airborne version of ebola. They had teams of post doc virologists working on it. They did not succeed. I think the chances of it happening by accident are very small.
What evidence do you have that people in hazmat suits get it? as for politican being scared, so waht? politicians are NOT intelligent. they are e******n-winning machines. Actors. As for ebola detecting kits, just good common sense. like carrying a snake bite kit if you walk in the desert. Your chances of getting bitten by a snake in the western US are very small, But people carry snake bite kits anyway. Some people even carry pistols to shoot the snake- assuming they even see one. (I lived in back country AZ for six years and saw ONE rattler.)
the disease the ex[perts worry about is not ebola. it is small pox. Now THAT is contagious!!! And in an un-exposed population, it is even more lethal than ebola.

"What evidence do you have that people in hazmat suits get it?" Read the news, dude. 2 doctors are already dead from it after wearing Hazmat suits when attending Ebola patients and no one can figure out why. I don't know why either, but I can sure as hell see why that scares a lot of people.

If they were really wearing hazmat suits, and disinfected the suits before taking them off, and got Ebola anyway, that IS scary!I'll have to look that up. I read about 2 sick US missionaries, and something like 700 dead Africans. But i had not noticed anything about Dr's dying even in hazmat suits. where did you see it? Thanks-

It's already 1000 dead Africans and I don't recall now where I saw about the dead doctors who wore Hazmat suits, maybe Fox, but if you Google it, it should be easy to find. That's why our government is rushing the v*****e, the doctors over there are all saying that this is a new strain and a lot more contagious, and they don't know why. It scares the crap out of them.

I did Google it. I read several articles. There was mention of one Liberian doctor dying but if he was a regular local MD he would not have a hazmat suit. Did not see anything about a new strain, or a v*****e. (They did save the two American with monoclonal antibodies but the supply of those is extremely limited.) Usually they can make v*****e against v***s diseases such as smallpox, measles, yellow fever etc. But Ebola is an RNA v***s like HIV so maybe that is why they have had trouble developing a v*****e.

You need to do more reading. Anyway, here. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2710174/In-stifling-hot-suits-silent-death-lurking-fear-mistake-fatal-Brave-doctors-terrifying-insight-battle-crucible-biggest-Ebola-outbreak-history.html

The article I found the first time about the dead doctors who wore biohazard suits was also in the Daily mail, as I recognize some of the pictures and a good part of the writing in this current article.
However, the previous article is long gone. Deleted. I can understand why, but as you can see in these pictures in this article, the doctors are wearing biohazard suits and still contracting ebola. Two of those doctors pictured are now in the US being treated in an Atlanta hospital.

Live or dead, doctors wearing biohazard suits are still getting ebola, and the lists of the dead in the news aren't keeping up with reality. Ebola has broken out in Nigeria now, in Lagos, which is Nigeria's largest city. They're scared s**tless over there and they should be.

President Obama decided to bring ebola to the U. S. for a specific political purpose. The current v***s has been found to effect only people who carry a mutant form of syphilis that is contracted through carnal knowledge of billy goats and chickens. While this is extremely rare in the general population the infection is very prevalent in tea party members, the rotting of the brain and accompanying madness in the infected lead eventually to the perverse ideology and screaming mania of the Tea Party. This strain of ebola binds with the exact type of billygoat syphilis found in the brains of most tea-baggers and does them in. Obamas plan is to use the disease to eliminate the nuts who are tearing our nation apart. You must let every one know about this sinister plan because you know the main stream media wont touch this story.
