Who is going to pay $12 for a combo meal at McDonalds?

During this p******c, to have Uber eats deliver a McDonalds combo meal from the restaurant three miles from my house costs around $20/$15 if you get a frequent user delivery discount.

Less than $2 for supplies and doing the work of cooking at home earns ME around $13/ hour, and its my lunch hour to boot!

And my fried apple pies are actually edible!

That isn't 'caring' for the small employer. And it actually hurts just about everybody.

It could help the minimum wage worker provide for his family without going on welfare for assistance. Since 40% of working Americans work for employers who pay less than $15/hour, where can these workers go to seek better paying jobs.

Except for business owners and consumers and all those who think that it is none of the governments business how much one person pays another for his labor. The minimum wage is not meant for someone to raise a family. It is meant for a business to pay a person enough to buy pimple cream and movie tickets and gas for his beater car until he is worth more than $7.50 an hour. The percentage of people making minimum wage is just over 4%. If you are a 28 year old with a kid or two making minimum wage, you have made some terrible life choices. I don't feel like I should be paying $5 for McDoubles because you are stupid. McDonalds doesn't think so either, so they will get machines to do it and continue to sell McDoubles for $2. And you won't have a starter job, or for that matter, any job at all.

P.S. That i***t you elected doesn't give a s**t about you. He only cares about how much graft and corruption his drug addict son can coerce from the Ukrainians and give half to Daddy.

If supply and demand is taking care of it - let it be.

That's exactly what I have said all along.

And what happens when that employer has to pay more in wages? They either raise prices or cut back on employees.

Back to square one.

The small businesses you have in mind ,Darling ,those Ma'& Pa' businesses are exempt from federal minimum wage laws and concerning state minimum wage laws -state laws never usurps federal laws ;
those that don't do business of at least 500,000 or more and have no more than three employee's are exempt from laws governing minimum wages.

Most Mom and Pop stores are not exempt if they employ anyone other than family members. But, you have a point. The FLSA allows for certain exemptions to minimum wage law. Minors, students, and employees with a physical or mental disability may be paid under the minimum wage in certain situations, if the employer has a certificate from the DOL.
