I believe he has passed... We stayed in touch via email until the summer... Then he stopped responding...
He had a heart condition and often mentioned his readiness for the last great adventure...

I am sorry to hear that. We had a few lively exchanges that I could tell were vexing for him at times but the last time he was conciliatory and I think he was a decent human being at heart.
