This is a song by Tears for Fears.

Moby did a cover of it with a k**ler video...but this young lady...

She gives a genuine performance. She sings this song with sincerity. She makes you believe she lives in a mad world...

The fact she's 13 and does this so well is scary!

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places
Worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere
Going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression
No expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow
No tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
Cuz I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Mad world
Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday
Happy birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen
Sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me
No one knew me
Hello teacher, tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me
Look right through me

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
Cuz I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Mad world
Mad world
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
Cuz I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Halargian world
Mad world

A fitting retort for halargian world, I think that means going off-track.

It does hurt, doesn't it? It's like listening to a kind of blues that makes you sad for another person.

I don't have the dystopian outlook some other folks have.

A song like this helps me understand.

Halargian World:

27 years after my grandparents drove me to the record store in the Dodge Dart to purchase The Hurting, I have finally found out what the final line of "Mad World" is, and it ain't "enlarging your world..."

Curt Smith revealed yesterday that with the "again-resurgent popularity (of 'Mad World'), I'm getting asked more frequently about the last line on the album version from The Hurting, a line which I occasionally also sing in concert.

"The actual line is: 'Halargian world.'

"(Not 'illogical world,' 'raunchy young world'(!), 'enlarging your world,' or a number of other interesting if not amusing guesses.)

"The real story: Halarge was an imaginary planet invented by either Chris Hughes or Ross Cullum during the recording of The Hurting. I added it as a joke during the lead vocal session, and we kept it.

"And there you have it."

Thanks for the explanation, I'm not dystopian either, actually the overall theory of everything is always what we maintain as a best guess, purpose is hidden to protect its intention.

Ya...I kinda think everything is far better and far worse at the same time than we can perceive.

We're a dim bunch, sometimes.

Vested interests spells it out, the fundamental law of brutality if one gets better one gets worse.
