Can You Guess What the Increase in Gun Sales Has Done to Crime?

A Pew Research study has shown what every sensible gun-owner already knows is true.

As gun sales rise, crime levels fall. No matter how hard liberal-minded gun control freaks try to spin the numbers, they just can’t get around the simple t***h that responsible gun-ownership is a huge deterrent to crime.

Unsurprisingly, one of the main reasons for increases in gun crime is the creation of more frivolous gun laws.

I find it amazing that only 43% of homes have a firearm. Probably much higher where I live, so I guess that offsets some of the lower numbers in gun banned areas. I would love to find a study of crime in places that have been banning firearms. I suspect the statistics would support a relative rise in crime in those areas.

Oh really????? Never would have thought that one up. LOL Ok so I am being what you call it, an a@@. yep that sounds like what I would call it.
In all fairness however, we should also look at what GUN FREE ZONES have cost in both lives and quality of life.
As for lives lost. Well we all know that there has never been a mas-shooting at any of the following. Target range, police convention, gun show, cop shop, or Sharif department. So what do they have in common? Guns? Yep big scarey black ones, little scarey pink ones, and all manner of scary things.
Now the gun free zones, they have nothing scary around, so the bad guy is not scared to go in there. It also leads them to know they can can shoot for some time before someone comes along with a scary thing to scare them to death with.
Has anyone but me noticed that when some place is declared gun free, folks start getting robed there?
Ok sorry I know this post is so full of sarcasm it drips with it. I pray it doesn't get on any one. LOL

I think, you would never get realistic numbers from gun h**ers...

However, if gun ownership reduces crime in your area, and you dont own a gun, then I recommend a fee be paid, to those who have protected you from your own stupidity... instead of registering the guns, register the i***ts and l*****ts........

The problem with that theory is; criminals have no idea who has guns and who doesn't and criminals are stupid, so wouldn't process this information even if they had it. I know it's popular to try and squeeze proof from empirical data, which have no common elements, but it ISN'T science. It's propaganda. There has YET to be proof positive about ANY causality between gun sales and crime rates. The biggest missing factor is, statements from criminals - that they have reduced their criminal activity due to fear of gun owners. Failing that information, everything is speculation, based on one's personal beliefs and hopes. Good for gun sales maybe, but bad for science.

I had to laugh when that Connecticut newspaper started printing CC permit holders names and addresses. The liberals made them stop because crime at these guys homes went down.

I am the flip side. If a neighbor was in a bind, I would arm up in a heart beat. True I would most likely pay for it in court later down the road. Damn it I h**e when I find my self at odds with me, it makes the fight no fun at all. Ok they are on their own. Sad when you have leave a person to what ever fiat simply to keep from life in prison.

"FEAR of the armed citizen and the threat of tough punishment for using a gun (or other weapons) in committing a violent crime are significant factors in both reducing and deterring crime, according to the results of a survey of imprisoned felons conducted by Professors James D. Wright and Peter H. Rossi.
"Through in-depth interviews with 1,874 imprisoned felons conducted between August, 1982, and January, 1983, the government-funded researchers delved into the deep-seated attitudes of criminals on the questions of weapons choice, deterrence, attitudes toward "gun control," criminal history, and firearms acquisition. The prisoners, studied under a grant from the National Institute of Justice of the U.S. Justice Department, were incarcerated in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada and Oklahoma."

I would perceive, if that is true, the reason the libs would want the practice stopped, would be because the criminals would know who was unarmed and be an easy target. (Sure used "would" a lot didn't I?)
