I took a turn to the Right like I did last summer and got lost again in the ease and comfort of Conservatives.

There was a recent article and video about why people still support Trump. I didn't want to hear it. Such an idea was so anathema to me and I wanted to spare myself the retching angst of listening to them; only a morbid curiosity, like rubbernecking a car accident, persuaded me to give it a try.

Surprise, surprise, surprise: their reasons, fervor, and quiet decency caused a short-circuit. It was so peaceful to be them; I have never quite experienced that feeling. Detente, perhaps, where there is an ease in hostilities between one warring concept or idea but not quite, ever, peace. This just may be my own view of what it means to be a Liberal, and it may sound arrogant, yet everything is to be constantly questioned; nothing is ever sacrosanct. I am not saying Conservatives do not question, just that it appears not to be primary in how they live. That is almost a compliment in the point I am trying to make.

A casual definition of being a Conservative, what is primary, is defending the status quo, maintaining the mores, beliefs, and traditions handed down through generations. My mind does not go there and that can be a burden. Just relax and ride the wave of common goals, ideals, and community in accepting those things. Oh, so welcoming! Two wolves fighting within me: which do I feed?

From what I saw in that video, Trump supporters felt they were the lost tribe of American values and representation, discarded and even mocked on the political stage. Directionless and adrift. Then came Trump with his disregard for norms and un-p**********l behavior, just saying what was on his mind and damn the consequence. The perfect rebel leader for their rescue from being tossed away for a generation, maybe ever two. No more! is their basis of support.

Have a Master's in clinical psychology, with an emphasis grief counseling, but that has nothing to do with the obvious: all of us have the two wolves. Or put it an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. We are torn between certain choices all our lives.

For a person that is horrified at the idea of spending Eternity in peace and is obsessed with hating one man and trying to convince others of his Evil and destructive ways, think I’ll pass on any advice of your so called “psychology!” LOL!

You see, Rumi, I have the ultimate teacher with me at all times continually guiding me, teaching me, guarding me.......I don’t have your anger or your need to pretend to be different characters. You are a very unhappy troubled man. I don’t feel your battle between good and evil. Does this mean that I have all the answers or that I’m perfect....heavens NO! It just means that I trust and am secure in my knowledge of Jesus Christ and my salvation....I am at Peace! Hopefully you will find this peace before it’s too late!
