That's the way insurance works, money is "pooled". Everybody pays something so that the individual doesn't get wiped out by an occurrence. No different than car or home insurance.
Bulls**t. I'm not paying premiums to cover a Lamborghini or a million dollar estate.

The government has no business in providing healthcare insurance and mandating blanket coverage for all citizens. The establishment clause of our Constitution, commonly known as The Preamble states the government will PROMOTE the general welfare, not PROVIDE it.

Each individual should be allowed to tailor his or her coverage based on their own particular heath issues and economic circumstances, they should be allowed to choose their own carrier, and they should be allowed to see their own doctor. Same goes for insurance on vehicles and homes.

I'll try but you'll never agree because you are a sheeple of the left. I've had it. My perfectly good insurance under the old regs. was $350/month with a $3,500.00 out of pocket. Covered almost everything. Greatest part about it, my choice. When I moved to Florida we are under the ACA "umbrella". Because of my income I was hit with a premium of $1,200 a month and an out of pocket of $8,000.00. $16,000 for my wife and I. Only two network choices. Had to change doctors or pay cash, but I was covered if got pregnant under the ACA. The other problem with the ACA itself; from a sustainability perspective, impossible. Covering pre-existing conditions (I believe they should) is expensive. Adding millions that were being subsidized by people like me was also unsustainable. I immediately started working much less to get my income down and greatly lowering my premium even though the out of pocket went up. It was sold to the country as a lie from the get go. Obama new no family was saving $2,500 on average.

That in itself is funny – Trump branding someone else as a liar.

Moving on, at the senate's Barrett nomination hearing on Wednesday, Lyin Ted Cruz continued the Republican assault on Obamacare, spewing F**E information.

By the way, Trump has labeled Obamacare a “disaster”.

Can anybody explain to me exactly what is disastrous about Obamacare?

It's got Obama's name on it, duh.

I***ts just don't get it. Wonder how expensive car insurance would be if you could purchase it after you wrecked your car, and they had to cover it. If I am going to subsidize someone I should have a say in their life choices.

You are commingling several issues there.

You are making an analogy of expensive homes & cars vs people. We're all just people.

The law allows you to choose your own coverage with the features you want. A "traditional" plan gives you freedom to select doctors of your choice but is more expensive. The HMO's and preferred provider plans restrict these choices but cost less due to pre negotiated lower prices.

Kinda like the GOP replacement plan that's been promised for over a decade but has never seen the light of day.

The traditional plan is more expensive only if you are getting a subsidy under the ACA. Out of pocket for ACA is way higher. You are just wrong and can’t admit it.

Pretty much. The few things wrong with health insurance could have been fixed quickly and with t***sparency. As usual the i***ts in Washington had to make it worse.

As for deductible, didn't you have options?

It's posted. You can look it up if you really care. Pelosi won't bring it to the floor. There have been many simpl suggestions that should have been implemented piecemeal. Of course congress never does that. Can't attach pet projects to the bill if you do.

Exactly and we're still hearing it from Trump in his campaigning, what a joke.
