We have not had a dog since 1998, 16 year old mutt we had to put down, brain cancer - like losing a kid. She was a small dog, when someone asked what she was I'd say "well, we ain't entirely sure, but I think her moma was a screw tail and her daddy was a fence jumpin, traveling man". πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
We love to travel and I don't want to kennel a dog, the motels now want almost as much to allow a dog as they do to allow a human. $150 and up - non-refundable, I don't care who you are, that's bull caca. Service dogs stay for free, but I won't lie (like some I have ran into) about my dog being a service dog.
Pepper h**ed cats, and would chase one until the cat stopped running, then Pepper would come home, acting like she had really accomplished something LOL!

It is always hurts to lose a dog.. or any pet I suppose.. the two that truly stand out are the one for most of my childhood, a true but terrific mongrel called Shep...And quite recently a fine yellow Lab called Big boy.. he knew when I was Ill and would share time with me..

Wow, that is far to much for a dog.. I recall when any pet stayed free.. guess that has been a long time..

I like the linage of your little dog...

Not sure about ownership.. he has a attatude of his own, when he is chasing something he stops for nothing. on the other hand the big sissy follows me around and slips into my bedroom and lays beside the bed all night.. darn fine dog.. I got him via a drop off..a "please keep him for the winter, he gets cold" after a couple weeks I told her come and get him or he is mine. and now I have a very good buddy.. stubborn but good.. Oh, I knew she would not take him back..

Pepper sounds like the best thing a wild kid could have.. good for your mom also..

Now you got me... considering the number of normal right wingers that I live with or near.. I can only say, being a right winger in no way excludes friendship..

However the right wing nuts on OPP, that does require this left wing nut to pick and choose.

Thats a good looking dog.

The joke was good too.

This is a story of self control and marksmanship. A woman survived a grizzly bear attack with one well placed shot from her itsy bitsy .25 caliber Beretta Jetfire.
πŸ“·These are her own words.:While out hiking in Missoula, Montana with my boyfriend, we were surprised when a huge grizzly bear came charging at us out of nowhere. She must have been protecting her cubs because she was extremely aggressive. If I had not had my little Beretta Jetfire I would not be here today! I yanked it out of my purse and fired one shot. It hit my boyfriend in his kneecap and the bear caught him easily. While the grizzly mauled the poor cripple, I was able to escape by just walking away at a brisk pace.I love that pistol. I'll find other boyfriends.

Seriously? This was a feel good, non-partisan, good humor thread, was there really any call for bringing negativity into it? Poor form my friend.

I had one like that. My wife told me a friend of hers had a litter of puppies and living on a farm with only a couple of tiny towns near by, she couldn't get rid of them. We lived closer to a large town and the big city. So, I threw together a pen to hold the pups while my wife tried to find them homes. One, we later named Buck, would jump out of the pen when I got home (he'd keep jumping out every time he was put back until I was done with chores and went in for the night), he'd follow me around while I did my chores. On weekends he'd follow me all day long. When I put him back after chores, he would stay in there until the next day when I got home from work. Decided that he was saying he wanted to stay with us, so while we found homes for his litter mates we decided he would stay with us. He became a good guard dog warning off coyotes. He sat beside my daughter when we had someone show up asking about buying some of our goats. The guy was making my daughter nervous and Buck walked over on his own and sat next to her looking at the guy as if to say try anything and you're lunch. He was a smart boy. If I went out to do chores or walk fence, he was right there following along with me. If I were going out to hunt (bow or rifle, it didn't matter), he never followed me. He'd stay up in the farm yard around the house. He loved when I came back with a deer, because it meant he was getting a treat when I dressed the deer. H**ed when I lost him, but even as a senior citizen he would never have been happy when we moved to town.

That is great Kick, everyone should have a dog like that.. nothing can beat a good dog.. all animals have appeal, but none hold a candle to a good dog..

sounds as if you had one of the best..

They attach to to you as if the truly feel what you feel. miss you so much and will do near anything for you..

and they do like those treats. right now my dog is pulling chunks out of the hide from my grandsons deer.. this is not a good thing, but he will not give up..

Painful to lose such a good dog.. a life companion..

We had a cat with delusions of grandeur. Our laundry room had a concrete floor, so we were scraping a deer hide in there. The cat was curious about what we were doing, so my wife tossed her some fat we scraped off. She loved it so much, she came back and tried to d**g off the whole hide. She didn't take anything from anyone. We had a bull mastiff german shepherd mix. She thought it was great fun to chase the cats either up a tree of fence post. It was fun until she ran into Pumpkin. Pumpkin swatted her on the nose and when Crystal turned to run, Pumpkin chased her leaping on her butt and biting her like a lion attacking a zebra.

LOL,, man, that would be fun to watch... we have had some cats similar to those. also some so scared they do not wait to be chased.. the good ones run when the dog wants to chase, then when it is chilly curl up on top of the dog to get warm..

I like em all..

did you know the Vikings are most responsible for spreading orange cats around the world.. little know fact.. they were thought to be good luck or holy or something so every ship want to has orange cat on cruse. then they escaped to all the other lands.. Or so I read in a book one day...
