If you do just use empty milk jugs. Now, it's rained, do you drink the rain water? No. I boil it, then put it in Zero water filter when it cools a bit. Put that in the fridge. Don't like water per se? Me either. You can buy little bottles or packs of flavor.

2. Food: I'm sure you can think of stuff and 4Patriots.com also sels stuff.

An easily accessible/portable survival food readily available is Quaker oats premade oatmeal and fruit packets. It has dairy(powderedmilk), oatmeal and dried fruit.
