I will always be a fan of Gomer Pyle... not only for his comedy talent, but more so for his fabulous voice..

I just ran into this while looking for songs.. a bit silly to start but get to the song and enjoy..

That is the best rendition of that song ever. That was in an episode titled "The Show Must Go On" that aired November 3, 1967. I'm glad you had the last part of that lead-in story. That makes this piece even better than if it were missing. A real tear jerker.

I saw him perform one time when he and Debbie Reynolds were touring together (1980s?), although they weren't on the stage at the same time. May he RIP.
