Are there any racing fans out there in OPP Land? I’ve always enjoyed watching the Derby every year. I grew up watching racing with my Dad and have continued to enjoy it. It’s a little strange not seeing all the fans and the Southern atmosphere with all those Big hats, but the thrill of the race will be the same. I love to hear the stories especially about the trainers, that’s a key component of these horses winning.

I’ve been reviewing the horses and watching some of their races and this is my prediction.....just for fun!

I think that the favorite Tiz the Law will win unless something happens! He has the speed and the consistency!

The real question is who will place second, third, and forth! I don’t think the horse Authentic will hold up for
1 1/4 mile. In the Haskell race, NY Traffic almost caught up with him! If he had of had two more strides, NY Traffic would have won! He gets stronger the farther he goes! He sticks that nose out front and reaches out with those front legs! Authentic just didn’t have it! In the Santa Anita race, Authentic was far the favorite but was beat by Honor A.P. ! I think this grey horse will place second and Honor A.P. third and Authentic forth!

I’ve never gotten all these right yet.........but I sure enjoy the race and betting with my husband!

Thanks for reminding me! I had forgotten it was today, just turned it on! Use to bet on 'em some when I lived in Vegas, but don't follow horses much anymore, but always enjoy watching the biggest races!

I haven't seen it in a while but I was a racing fan. I watched Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Affirmed win the Triple Crown - of course Secretariat was the best. Haven't seen it live in a while and usually end up catching it on youtube. I will this time too. Sometimes I wish I still had a TV....

We just watched a race where a horse came from several horses back and the finish was absolutely so close you couldn’t tell which one won! They said, he won by a quarter of a nostril! Now that’s close! 😂. The one that came from the back won!

That Secretariat was some horse! 😉

Do you remember Alydar losing to Affirmed by a nose in the Belmont? That was one of the most exciting races I've ever seen.

I am now that I turned off the sound. What in the hell does B*M have to do with a horse race?years ago I trained Pacers and Trotters. Raced mostly in Ohio.

Well! The horse that I said couldn’t make the 1 1/4Mile WON! He outrun Tiz the Law! The trainer of the horse American Pharoah was Authentic’s trainer! My grey horse didn’t even place! LOL!

Another good race!😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

No, I didn’t see that! I’ll go see if I can find it and watch it!

As usual, B*M has nothing to do with it!

That’s interesting! I’ve seen very little of Pacers and Trotters, but I have no doubt that I would enjoy them!

I like to see those horses run! We used to have some fun racing when I was a kid! We would get a small tree limb that was long enough that when we held it between us our horses wouldn’t touch. Bareback we we would hold the stick between us with one hand on the stick and our other hand on the reins and race until one of us would turn loose.......until Daddy caught us! The racing was not the problem, the stick was the problem! 😂

I found it! I watched all three races....Belmont, Kentucky Derby, Preakness! Those two horses were amazing! I don’t know that Alydar wasn’t more impressive than Affirmed! He came from 8th position to right behind Affirmed in the KD! I wonder if there are more Triple Crown winners that were the same first and second place winners like those two? More research! 😁

I think many of our generation would have a heart attack if we thought our children did some of the things that we did in our “country” life when we young! 🤣

Are you kidding? They won’t let their kids ride a bike unless they’re dressed like a football player.

Yep! I watched a video awhile back with kids running barrels in helmets! They take some of these safety steps way too far, IMO! The kids don’t have a clue what “Shake it Off” means! 😀
