The Limits of Reason: self-interest, partisanship, and the survival instinct, to name a few, but major blocks
How do we overcome these barriers and limits to Reason? Their arguments are extremely convincing, most often overwhelming, irresistible. In fact, those who may argue differently are considered the enemy or worse. Even considering their side is seen as a betrayal or stupidity. What is the solution to reasoning clearly and justly.
Only one thing: The self-sacrificing love of Christ. Nothing else. All included estimates of self-interest, partisanship, and the survival instinct is a distraction from truth. Those things are being friends with the world, and those that are friends of the world means enmity against God? Such a thought goes against every fiber of the soul. Yet that is the way in the Kingdom of Heaven
