It seems that 2 Republican judges have given one more flicker of hope to those who wish to see national health care fail.

Opposing findings by differing courts will send this to a final decision before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Washington (CNN) -- It was a tale of two rulings -- the best of times and the worst of times for Obamacare in the federal appeals courts.

First, two Republicans on a three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit court of appeals ruled against a key component of the law -- the federal subsidies for millions of people who signed up for health coverage.

The 2-1 decision on Tuesday created a legal path for a possible Supreme Court case that could essentially gut the 2010 Affordable Care Act, which passed with zero Republican v**es.

A few hours later, all three judges on a 4th Circuit panel in Virginia decided the opposite by declaring the subsidies legal and proper.

Ve'hoe, I am so old that I am not affected yet. So I see this as most interesting. Think of it, if we combine the courts, which we can not, we would have 4 to 2 in favor of the ACA as it was expressed. But those 2 will drive the case to the SCOTUS and they could well set things back to zero.

Think of that, the insurance co would have a field day, they would insist at least 25% increase needed in rated to adjust for the loses from complying with the ACA.

The will use any excuse and if one is removed, they will use the reshuffling to jack rates to the skies..

I any case, this will need to be watched..

Not just the Right Wing but all of us, both Right and Left. It will be very interesting to see which way the 5/4 split in the Supreme Court rules on this one
I, for one hope that this will finally mark the demise of the ACA for all rime.

For me, the ACA was downright embarrassing. We needed healthcare reform so badly and for so long it has been worked for. Teddy Roosevelt, others, ever Tom Jefferson felt it should be included by the founding fathers..

However, what we got, could have been better put together by a group of high school kids. That includes both the act itself and most of the internet sites. Particularly the federal one.

If it makes it past the SC, I think it will be revised and fixed to be more useful..

Very interesting. After I heard of the opposing rulings, it further confirmed the split in our country. A nasty split.

The ACA is going no where you i***t. Why do you think the TP is fighting it in court. They don't have the balls to do it themselves. So they are cherry picking like a bunch of children. VA got it right and the SCOTUS has already ruled and they are not about to change it.

What does the US Govt ever do that isn't??? 555 Congress critters and 10,000 lobbyists all stick their oar in. But the last Doctor i mentioned it to shrugged and said "better than nothing."

Lemme get this straight. Obamacare was supposed to cover 20-30 million people who had no health care coverage. There's 300+ million Americans (plus a bunch of under the counter hangers on) and 15 million of them have signed up, so far, under the un-affordable care act. How many still have no coverage? The UACA was supposed to save most families $2500/yr on health care premiums. Anyone seen that happen, yet? It hasn't done ANY of what it was sold to the public as it was supposed to accomplish. So, I'm asking you. "What's in YOUR wallet?" Or, how big does the lie have to get before even a Liberal can see it for what it is??

The ACA was passed ONLY because of lies---prior to that most of us had insurance we were happy with (if not we could get it elsewhere) some had no insurance BUT those were covered by hospitals or Medicade, little problem for most. Now we have this monster of Obama's!!!!

We, too, have watched several other Nations adopt Managed Care and have seen what happens to the populace of those Nations. For me, no thanks.
