The NFL Today!

Some Folks Have Come to Despise the NFL. For fans who follow the sport, most of this will be a simple reminder of things you already know. For the rest, it's a wake-up call:
In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling before each game to pray, they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his eye-black to avoid glare, and made him take it off.
In 2013 the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders.
In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said "Know Jesus Know Peace" but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.
In 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing "Find the Cure "eye black for breast cancer awareness.
In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence. (Not that the NFL has a domestic violence problem..).
In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers k**led in the line of duty.
2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11.
So tell me again how the NFL supports free speech and expression. It seems quite clear based on these facts that the NFL has taken a position against any action by NFL players demonstrating RESPECT for any issue:
For God, social causes such as mental health, cancer, domestic violence, for cops k**led arbitrarily, for being cops, or for the Memory of 9/11...
BUT they will allow demonstrations of DISRESPECT for our National F**g, our National Anthem, for America , and for the American People, if it will help mollify a particular Group and its supporters. That is who and what the NFL now has shown itself to be.
Pass this post along to all your friends and family, if you believe it worthy of sharing. Honor our military; too many of whom have come home with the American F**g draped over their coffin.

Pretty much the way I see it. I started losing interest in the NFL some years ago. I loved football. My dad was a very successful coach. When the NFL allowed them to trash talk and dance all over the place I started to lose interest. I was taught to beat your opponent, but respect him. Dancing and all the other crap they do now doesn't do that. As far as the Anthem goes I realize they have the right in this great country to kneel. I was raised in a time where we said the Pledge every morning. I've been to too many funerals where that f**g was draped over a coffin to not think someone kneeling is just putting on a cheap show. NFL players are rich (comparatively) and could have much influence on todays youth. By just kneeling they accomplish nothing but get to pat themselves on the back and say how much good they are doing for social justice. A term 90% couldn't define. If C***d does one thing advantageous I hope it causes the NFL to fold as we know it.

Interesting enough.
I've been a die hard football fan since '98.
Loved the sport, fantasy football and all that crap.
My team is in one of the best positions it's been to win a Super Bowl since 2013, and I can't get up for this season at all.
Football was my favorite circus to get away from all of the political nonsense.
It used to be a place were all people came together as a TEAM to win.
I HAD some great times with the game.
Just a shame the spectical it has become.

Just the fact that many can afford to opt out of this season shows you how much money is being distributed. If it wasn't for FanDuel I wouldn't even look at NFL statistics anymore.

I was told by a couple of coaches, when you score either set the ball down or hand it to an official. Act like you've done this before. As an offensive lineman, it really didn't apply to me but still made an impression. My real sport was hockey. When I scored a goal, I'd just skate to center ice for the face off. You don't see big celebrations after scoring unless it's an overtime goal that wins the Stanley Cup.

Like wise, when I won a wrestling match I met my opponent in the middle of the mat and shook hands. I sure didn't dance around and spike my head gear.

I dunno. Once when we played a rival, we were well ahead in the fourth quarter and I deliberately dunked on them. At the time this was a technical and it was worth it. Coach pulled me out of the game, but I don't think it much bothered him either, since they had embarrassed us the last game. It was just rubbing their noses in it. It just sort of happened. I was on a fast break and I was plenty high enough, so why lay it in? I knew I would get a technical and didn't care; I had girls to impress.
