Congress can't decide on how to help American people !! Neither side wants to budge ! !! And in the mean time Americans will suffer!! We can't wait for these selfish a$$holes!! President Trump needs to sign Executive Orders and help us!! And don't worry about lawsuits!!! obama didn't !! He signed his awful ACA like he said "I have a phone and a pen!"....President Trump can do the same and show American people who cares about them . .. Here's a hint: It's NOT Democrats !!!

Unfortunately he can't. What he COULD do is insist Congress write the bills separately. For instance, it seems it is bipartisan to pay another $1200 stimulus. So do that. I dont understand why the country is CONSISTENTLY held hostage, and not just now, over bills full of nonsense. For instance the last bill - were you in favor of Congress getting another raise? Congress doesn't deserve raise !!! They are not doing their job!! All of them need to be fired!!! And why can't President Trump sign EO's to help Americans ???Obama did it,why can't President Trump ??? These are desperate times ,require desperate measures !! He is going to get sued ? ? Let them!! They always sue him,but at least this time American people will know who's got their back!!! And it's not Democrats !!!

Congress has control of the purse strings. The President can only reallocate existing monies.

Only Congress can appropriate money. Again, you people are supposed to be experts on the constitution. So how it is you have no clue about it??? And if you Republicans care so much about the American people why didn't you agree to the $600 dollar extension until the end of the year? You care so much...except when it comes to actually caring...

He can't insist on anything...unless he threatened to veto anything that came to his desk that wasn't separate bills.

Yeah, there was a smart move. A man making 2k a month gets laid off due to the c***d19 lockdown. He is paid regular unemployment at 1400 or so a month. Let's give him an additional $2400 a month just because.
I know a fellow who is drawing all that, plus working handyman jobs for unreported cash, making an extra $1000 a month. Yes, it is illegal, but his monthly income went from $2000 a month to $4800 a month. He is howling up a storm to keep the lockdown going as long as possible. Go figure. Now multiply this by millions of unemployed.
This policy was designed to start a monthly stipend for lower income people, and to make them dependent on keeping the democrats in power. It absolutely can not be justified by any reasonable person.

There's little he can do, Congress controls the purse strings. Instead of trying to find a campaign angle, he could call out BOTH parties for their criminal actions, or rather LACK of action, where each side is trying to find a way to take credit for campaign purposes, or deny the other side credit.

Everyone who is evicted, or suffers some other calamity, because of Congresses selfish and self centered behavior, should be compensated from a fund drawn from each Congress persons personal accounts. Like children, when there are no negative consequences for incorrect behavior, there is no change in behavior.

The president cannot spend money not allocated by congress. He is not a dictator, although he longs to be.
