Had to go to the store (again) this AM and on the way back I had to stop and wave down traffic coming from the other way so a doe and her fawn could cross the road where the river crosses the hwy.

It was priceless.

Funny how the little things (compared to The Big Picture) is what we remember as the best moments. I'm glad you stopped to 'smell the roses', and I bet mama and bambi are, too.

As a teen, I had the pleasure of growing us in three countries: Born in Texas, then Panama and Alaska.

Alaska was utterly fantastic. No Deer, but shor were a bunch of Mooses......... I've lost count how many times I had to run like hell because I thought a baby Moose wanted to be friends............. Needless to say, beeg bad Mamma didn't think the same way....+

I now live in my remaining years in Florida, but would return to Alaska in an instance if possible......................................

I was blessed in '98 to spend two months in an RV driving with my sister and her husband all over Alaska (including the Haul road). It was awesome and I still subscribe to the magazine "Alaska." I love their photography and if they ever put out a 'photo only' edition, I'd be ecstatic! I now live out in the country in eastern Florida. We have deer, coyotes and other wildlife, but it's a different kind of beauty and you have to appreciate it on its own merits.

Much better than if Bambi had met Godzilla.

I lived in J'ville and Bryceville for 12 years and spent 5 years in Dutch Harbor.

Yerington is a good place...except the wind blows a lot.

Look it up on YouTube. I'm pretty sure it would be there.
