There have been so many wrongly convicted people recently exonerated for crimes done by someone else it is no longer worth the risk of executing someone who might be innocent.

Yes, starting with certain former intelligence officials, and all the way to the top of the last administration.

Absoulately Yes; in clear cases.

It would depend on the strength of the evidence against the defendant. However, I think the death penalty should be in effect in every state and maybe we’d have fewer murders. H*****g would be the best punishment.

Within the first year after we discovered DNA something like 126 men were taken off death row. Life in prison is far more cruel than the death penalty.

I agree with that. They could all hang in a row. That will never happen. Nothing will happen to the scumbags.

Yeah, 62 million innocents executed in the US since 1973 for no crime whatsoever, and 1330 convicted criminals executed in the US since 1976.

Yes, with current technology and lengthy appeals the chance of an innocent person being put to death is extremely small.

I think you may be correct about this.
The death penalty is biblical but we should not enforce it in a corrupt society. There are seven deadly sins that warrant the death penalty. When the Messiah comes, there will be a moratorium on executions. It is better to let a guilty person go free than to execute an innocent person. Psalm 102:20. "To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death". Marijuana will also be legalized and all persons incarcerated for marijuana related offenses will be set free. Use of marijuana is a part of the Temple service.
