Our intelligence agencies knew, so the question begged is, if Trump didn't know why didn't they tell him? Myself, I believe they did. So does the NYTimes and anyone who doesn't have their heads stuffed up Trumps rear end.

It took more than 24 hours and one round of golf for Donald Trump to respond to the New York Times story that says he knew of a scheme where Russia paid Taliban mercenaries to k**l U.S. and British soldiers in Afghanistan.

First, his press secretary denied Trump or Vice President Pence were ever in the loop on the intelligence. Then, Trump predictably tweeted that it was “f**e news.”

Mark Meadows wasn’t chief of staff back in March when the intelligence was first shared with the White House. The New York Times writes:

“But one American official had told The Times that the intelligence finding that the Russians had offered and paid bounties to Afghan militants and criminals had been briefed at the highest levels of the White House.

“Another said it was included in the President’s Daily Brief, a written document which draws from spywork to make analytic predictions about longstanding adversaries, unfolding plots and emerging crises around the world. The briefing document is given to the president to read and they serve as the basis for oral briefings to him several times a week.”

It has been reported on numerous occasions that Trump is not a frequent reader, or believer, of the intelligence brief he receives.

But as the Times notes, “American officials reached on Saturday said it strained credulity to think that White House national-security officials would be discussing such an important matter for months and even brief British officials about it and never provide the information to Mr. Trump.”

Joe Biden said Trump’s entire presidency has been a gift to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Not only has he failed to sanction or impose any kind of consequences on Russia for this egregious violation of international law, but Donald Trump has also continued his embarrassing campaign of deference and debasing himself before Vladimir Putin.”

It should be noted that the White House press office has not denied the substance of the reporting by the Times. And the report has been confirmed in the U.K.

What strains credulity is how long the NY times wrote about the Russian collusion h**x.

Reported in the NYT? "Confirmed in the U.K."? Oh, boy!

The Taliban have been k*****g American soldiers since October, 2001 and they have never been short of funds to do it. I seriously doubt the Tallies need motivation in the form of bounties or some such payoff to k**l Americans.

Credulity: a tendency to be too ready to believe that something is real or true.

Poor Trump, everyone wants to plant f**e news about him, don't they? Is that the game being played here? Well, it makes it easier to excuse away his behavior I guess. I mean if I had Trump for president I would be making as many excuses as I could too. But that's all they are, are excuses. Trump was given this information in him PDB and he chose to ignore it and went beyond that and fought to have Russia admitted to the G7. And ask yourself the question--has he retracted the offer? Has he admonished Russia for their behavior? What kind of admonishment should Russia have for murdering 20 of our soldiers? What would you have wanted Obama to do? Tell Putin that he was a bad boy? Given your reaction here that's what I am led to believe that you think...

I'm guessing you'll be giving FDR a pass for letting Stalin keep 2 million Allied prisoners of war that he then k**led! It was part of the Yalta conference. There is a great documentary on Amazon prime concerning this.

The New York Times speaks of "straining credibility?" What a joke.

This has been debunked by CNN using named sources. NYT had unnamed sources, could it be that they were unnamed because they don't exist? There were rumors of this picked up by one agency, but no other agency could confirm this. With no confirmation and/or conflicting information, there was nothing actionable and it did not get elevated to the DNI. Without getting to the DNI, it does not make it into the daily p**********l briefing.

No...No the house must open another investigation into this.

They will have to impeach both Trump and Barr...because they are both "t*****rs" to the country and to the Constitution.

It's funny, in my military career, with my job we ALWAYS had bounties on us. Par for the course.

Do we know how many of the 21 service members, who have been k**led in Afghanistan, have been paid for?

Seems like they need to up the ante
