Anything from an article by or promoted by H****r Thompson has to be suspect. Intercourse with a person carrying the human papaloma (spelling is wrong, but this borrowed computer does not have spell check) v***s may cause cancer and more and more teenage children are carrying the v***s. Condoms are not very effective for preventing spread of v***ses. In anal intercourse condoms are lest than fifty percent effective in HIV and papaloma prevention. It does depend on whether you consider a sexual act such as intercourse to be no no more emotional than the breeding of a rooster to a hen, or whether you believe that intercourse between people should contain an emotional or spiritual connection as to whether you think casual sex is no different than sharing a candy bar or borrowing a friend's comb. and therefore not emotionally damaging if entered into causualy. When my wife was a teenager she was told that intercourse was a special act to be done by married couples only' and what ever discussions happened in my family, only by my mother, went the same way. Until we were married 48 years ago we had never had intercourse, and abstinence worked fine. If I were teaching a health class which included sex education, it would be separated. female teacher teaching girls, and a male teacher teaching boys. It would include the biological facts, plus about five minutes on the methods that work with the lowest failure rates for preventing pregnancy. It would not include discussions of oral, anal, multiple partners at the same time how to watch pornography while having sex, or any of the nonsense that the GLBT organizations put out about t*********r, s*x c****e operations, or sex with animals. The biological facts including impregnation how a baby develops, and what happens to cause an erection, and why erections are not always in response to sexual interests would be covered. As I said, it would be same sex discussions because both boys and girls would have questions that they might not ask in front of the opposite sex. It would also be filmed to prevent inappropriate discussions or activities between students and/or teachers.
Anything from an article by or promoted by H****r ... (
show quote)
This article is in today's Guardian, not by Thompson, the Thomson quote is at the bottom of everything I post as part of my profile and speaks to the present state of clueless paranoia infecting our nation. Thompson has been dead for a number of years. I have no problem with teaching human reproduction as part of a science curriculum, what is reprehensible is lying to students in order to control their behavior. While I congratulate you and youe wife on your apparently happy relationship, many people enjoy healthy sex lives before or outside of marriage and knowing how to do so safely in no way precludes anyone from maintaining virginity to marriage. Knowledge is rarely detrimental to anyone, lies however have no place in education.
