This responsibility for this kind of announcement would be obviously painful for anyone, each keystroke, I imagine, another blow to your heart.

Please bear with us as we absorb the magnitude of our own loss and try not trouble yourself over our stumbling attempts to avoid the magnitude of that loss. For the atheist friends she made on this site, our sense of loss is compounded by the belief in the finality of death without some promised ressurection or future reunion.

Your Mom was an arbiter of t***h and clarity of messaging. Thank you for your grace and thoughtfulness in informing us. And for your forbearance as we struggle to catch up.

Very eloquently put. You echo what many could not put into words....

PennyLynn, originally known as 'GinnyT' on this forum, was one of the earliest and most welcoming posters with whom to exchange thoughts upon my entry to OPP. Over the years, she remained one of its most capable and articulate contributors. More importantly, as a rule, she was generally consistent with her respectfulness, courtesy, and civility towards others. However, eventually we did find ourselves occasionally in conflict over various matters, even to the point of some contentiousness. Nevertheless, we always maintained each others utmost respect as to their value on the OPP forum. I shall greatly miss her.

A note: Recently, at 50,000 posts, I decided to take a well-deserved break from the chaos this forum often brings. As of now, I don't know when or if I will return. Yet, as I drop in often and check the comments, I say thanks to all those who would seem to welcome my return. That may yet happen. Time will tell.

In closing, I consider many, if not most OPPers to be my friends. To those who may not view me so favorably, I like to think that maybe we just haven't gotten to know each well enough. That thought brings to mind a quote from Abe Lincoln: "I don't like that man. I must get to know him better!"

I was not sure where I should post this...This morning I asked Admin to change the name of Penny's log on, I wanted to preserve her writings, but I needed to get a message out to anyone who knew her. I did not want to become a member, so I am hijacking her account for today.

Momma went for a late run last night and was hit by a car about 4 miles from her farm. She is died on the scene. I have no other details.

As I think of our PennyLynn, the foremost characteristic that comes to mind is her great faith and with that thinking this verse so succinctly coveys her faith.

Psalm 76

26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

To her grieving family, know that we deeply feel your loss. The Psalms provide us with wisdom in this time.

Psalms 147:3 - “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Grieve we must; however, God has chosen to take PennyLynn home to him.

Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

Her great diplomacy, kindness and wisdom will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry. Pennylynn was a wonderful lady. She is smart and caring. I admire and appreciate her for all she'd written at the OPP.

I pray for her eternal rest and peace in God's kingdom. My condolences to you and to all her family.
I will miss her.

Thanks for posting.
Very sad news, but important. I would not have known why she has left us.
She was a great contributor to OPP, and will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Many here on this forum were so impressed by how she defended her beliefs. It is always so sad when an invisible friend is no longer visible even if through words and thoughts. She spoke highly of you and like me, I am positive that her many friends not only pray for you in your grief but thank you for letting us know about her passing. May the Lord bless you and strengthen you through the days to come.

What I remember about Penny was that she was/claimed to be the daughter of a Rabbi.
A nice lady and fun to debate with her.
Sorry that I forgot that she passed away and that she was run over by a car, while walking along side a road.
