What would happen if the E*******l College was abolished?
America would become like every single other constitutional democracy on Earth.

The horror.

Rural white men who are nominally Christian would no longer be able to rule America despite being a minority. They would still have disproportionate power in the Senate, but they would no longer be able to elect a President without having to moderate their extremism so as to form coalitions with other groups.

The effect would be a two party system more moderate than the highly polarized one we now have, with the majority of Americans living resentfully under the oppression of an entitled dogmatic, hostile minority.

The Republicans, who would never again elect a President as long as they only represented rural reactionaries, can’t admit any of this.

So they concoct BS answers to dance around their real belief: that they have the God-given right to rule the rest of us, and democracy be damned.

They say no entrenched minority ever gives up power willingly. I don’t know how generally that’s true but it sure is true in this case. I have yet to meet a Republican who admits the t***h of what they really believe.

What’s scary is that as the challenge to their unrighteous d******n over the rest of us mounts, they’ve become more and more f*****tic / authoritarian in response.

What did the constitution have to say about religious groups and churches being on a different set of rules than the rest of society in states?

A blue state governor has every right to set guidelines and restrictions those who put them in office support, and what makes a church so special that they as a group don't have to follow group size orders that are for the good of the whole? They congregate and have proved that large outbreaks can often occur as a result.

Give churches special privileges and exceptions and you have to give them to Muslims and other religious groups as well.

The majority elects the governance they want, and the minority has to go along with it, the e*******l college is allowing the ever shrinking minority that is the hard right to call the shots, religiously inspired actions are just part of that.

While I have been i jail 2 times, both were local and only a couple hours each.. and a very long time ago.

never considered your question.. I have however had a conversation with a lady I worked with who had a brother locked up in Minnesotans top security prison.. next to Stillwater Mn. and I can not come up with the name..

She was very upset and went on and on about the strict regulation and time of every activity..the earning of privileges and the unofficial behavior of guards and the correction staff.

However I have been told that by other nation standards, our prisons are a cake walk..

So.. while I want no part of any prison.. I would chose the white boy operation.. hands down..
